Police: Allentown man eats drugs hidden in his buttocks

A 30-year-old man being searched in Allentown police headquarters Saturday night pulled a bag containing drugs from his buttocks and ate them, according to court documents.

Jesus Serrano, of Allentown, had been arrested after police received reports that he was passed out at 8:28 p.m. in the 800 block of N. Elliger Street with a small child, according to court documents. When police got to the scene, Serrano was walking away with a 2-year-old child, police said.

Police caught up to Serrano and noticed his speech was slurred, he was unsteady and appeared to be under the influence of drugs, according to court records. Police found seven bags of heroin in Serrano's pant pocket and two Oxycotin pills in his sweatshirt, according to court documents.

As he was being searched in a cell block at police headquarters, Serrano ate the rest of the drugs, according to court records.

Serrano, of 150 W. Linden St., was charged with possession of heroin, possession of Oxycotin, endangering the welfare of a child, tampering with evidence and public drunkenness. He was arraigned by District Judge Michael Faulkner and sent to Lehigh County Prison.
