Pretty much. The 12v are capable of making a lot more power than the truck can handle as a whole, but if you do routine maintence, dont fuck with the engine to much and tow within the truck ratings there shouldnt be problems.

On 1st gens when I hear from people its always because they tow higher than the rating, because the engine was making enough power to tow but the trans cant take it

Basically, you get the highest quality music. But the files are bigger.
