assuming that its totaled I'm looking around to see what i can buy cash. Assuming that I can get 15k for my truck I'd have about 8k to play with. I'd like to pay cash but am not opposed to taking a small loan for something nicer. Not sure what I'd want though. I don't really need diesel but i do tow heavy from time to time. If its a truck that i'd keep i'd want a 4 door 4wd. Otherwise i'd just buy a beater till i have more cash to play with. I also want something that will give me 20+ mpg.
Yeah I'm looking at duramaxes right now. I don't like the f250 at stock height and lifted ones are $$$$$
I found this. I'll prob hold out and see if i can find one for a similar price in better conditions.
2wd but since i dont want a payment i'm probably stuck with it.
I'm already looking for adds of similar trucks to mine for sale to battle it out with the ins to try and increase their pay out. I just found one older than mine with less factory options, more miles, and not lifted (state farm will pay for my lift, tires, and other mods) for 14k
I thought you wanted to keep yours if you could

18k? where'd you get that number from. I still owe about 6500 on mine. so if they give me 15k I'd have 8500 in hand. If i get the one that i linked for 10k i can pay it off in a year. Or i can buy something cheaper shittier cash and have no payment.
Yes I want to keep my truck but I also want to have options if they total it. If they total it my first step would be to see how much my ins would take and how much it will cost me to get it back to how it was. If its too much i'll look for a replacement.

I see. I just made that number up, since you said you saw older, higher mile, less modded trucks for 14K and your insurance would pay for extras. I didnt figure in on having to pay off this truck

Oh, and this weekend ( since it was 70+ ), I went on a few rides. On one of them, I caught up to 5 guys riding various bikes. They weren't doing anything crazy. Anyhow, I backed off a bit before approaching some of the good turns so I could hit them a little hard ( I don't ride crazy, especially in the fall with leaves on roads sometimes ). As I round the turn, I see one guy pulled off to the side of the road, and one guy in the ditch off the road with his cruiser on its side.
So of course I pull off to help. I help him get settled ( made sure he wasn't real hurt ) and then help the other guy pick the bike up and set it on the kickstand. He was riding a Kawi cruiser and the other guy was riding a Kawi touring bike. The one that fell was the cruiser. He ended up breaking his arm just above the wrist ( wasn't compound fracture, but you could see the bone bulging up ). The other three never came back, so I offered to ride ahead and go send word that one of them fell.
So I am riding down the road about 2 miles and I catch them .... one of those three was down rounding another corner.
Lucky, he wasn't hurt. He simply bent a mirror on his dual short bike. So we all rode back to take care of the other guy and wait for a guy with a truck and trailer.
It amazed me to see two people down in that short of time. It was a combination of them not knowing the roads and riding above their skill level(s).
Luckily nobody was seriously hurt.
holy jeez glad you were around to help, even just providing mental support and rationale in the face of 2 crashes.
JEBUS RICK!!!! What the FUCK?!??!? I had to go back like 5 pages to see wth happened

He dumped it there and i just pushed it off of the trail.

My cousin called another friend and he called his brothers. We call them the ford brothers. You can probably guess why. Well they showed up in 3 diesels and a huge car trailer ready to drag my shit out. Since the tow truck took my truck out they just loaded it onto their trailer and drove home. These guys drove 6 hrs out of their way just to pick up my truck and wouldn't take a dime that i offered. My truck is now at their warehouse. I have to go pick it up today and figure out what's going to happen with it. Insurance says that its covered and I have full coverage. I think that it can be fixed without salvaging it. The only mechanical damage that i could see was a broken steering linkage? not sure what its called but its the bar that hooks up to the pitman arm on the steering box. While winching it out that got ripped out of the steering box.
very glad it's covered under insurance!

Worst feeling was pulling my wife out of the drivers side and giving her a boost to climp up the side of hte truck and out of the hole.
I then got out and was pissed because my cigars were in the glovebox. once i stopped cursing and kicking rocks i climbed back in and grabbed them.
omg AND wife with you??!? sofa king glad y'all are both ok!!
