No jealousy games here please? I really do appreciate all the help here. Now if you could, stop knocking me for trying to make one.

Re: making my own petcock

Why would anybody get banned? Cody did not ask for anything,we both offered on our own will. I guess you missed my reply where I stated I banned 20 spammers, not legit members.
Either way I dont care,if you want to send him yours thats fine. Its up to you/him.

Only thing I would ask in return for a free petcock from either one of us is that Cody take the money he saved from buying a petcock &spend the $15 on a Red R to help support the forum. The same forum where we helped him out...

That was to be my next suggestion as it usually is but with this guy I think we might be holding our breath here?

Damn, looks pretty cool. If I didn't already just replace the petcock on mine, I would definitely go with that. But I'll keep that in mind

Re: making my own petcock

I never really got to try it out, but I did test fit it and it was gonna be to big, couldn't mount it facing backwards and facing forwards I would have had to move my water

Re: making my own petcock

I was thinking of going to some configuration using this type of valve, would have to fab a bulkhead for the bottom of the tank.??????

Re: making my own petcock

To be honest I don't know if that would work, it looks like it would be too big and like before mentions the outlets have to be very close to factory height or you have flow issues. Why can't they just make a really small version of that with maybe a 90 to npt threads with a single or dual barb that would be perfect and at less than $30 that would be awesome. How would you release the gas? Just have it hooked to ignitions or what

Re: making my own petcock

Havent actually looked to hard at it, probably just as easy to order the pingel or just rebuild oem, I had thought about them the other day just hadnt looked it up. I think I would put it on the fan switch, I live in Florida so cold temps are not an issue. Its just a thought.............

How about a pingel mount with an elbow and run it back to the center of the bike, the one I suggested is only 1 1/2 wide so you would need to come down 3/4 min.. That would clean up that petcock area.

Re: making my own petcock

Like your thinking, but I would be afraid of it failing you would have no warning, I think I would rather stick to a manual shut off valve instead of trying to rely on electronics.

Re: making my own petcock

I actually found the pingel on Amazon for 84 and adapter plate was only like $20ish if only I had the money laying around I would have ordered it and just been done

Re: making my own petcock

No.... You should make one out of bubblegum, bamboo, and pixie dust. That's how I choose to transport highly combustible liquid, in a area right between my legs...... Yep, you should do it, because homemade petcocks are really taking off.....
