true, lol.

It looks like he just pulled it over onto its right side and then drug it out of the hole. Without actually seeing the scene I would have put a sling around the left front wheel tp lift up and one down low and to the right front wheel to pull it backwards. Hard to explain, but I can see it in my eyes, and it would work, lol.

Looking back at the pics, it looks like an international, look at the lugnuts spacing and size compared to Rics truck.

But still, an International with that size body on it is still considered a light duty truck.

I frequently have to move 1000+lbs of steel with my hands.

You learn the "simple machine" concepts fast when you have to lol.

Re: Boredz V49 - Canucks optional :P

he got it onto its wheels before dragging it out. It ending up on its side was because of some friends trying to get it out. Looking back at it i should've called the tow truck from the get go. It is what it is.

I just called the claims office and it doesn't look like they'll have an adjuster available for 2 or 3 days. My buddy has plenty of room at his shop but they need the trailer that its on. I'm just going to go and tow it to a shop and have it sit there till the adjuster can look at it.

Better learn this stuff if you want to get into the welding trade, a lot of welding trades involve moving very heavy objects.

No as in setting two 16" x 21' pipes weighing 800lbs each perfectly aligned with each other end to end with exactly 1/8" gap between their ends to get a proper weld penetration

Or even better stacking 10 of said pipes vertically end to end plumb and true.

That is what I do.

That is impressive. Is there any sort of measuring with that or do you just use your eye to line them up? And how do you keep them from not shifting while youre welding

I figure it's all done on the ground and then lifted into place.

Lots of mechanical advantages used to align. Pulleys/wedges/screws etc. What we call key plates etc. Once aligned it gets tacked first. Not your normal tack. More like short welds... to keep it from waroing itself with heat then weld.

Sometimes larger sections are. But then you just have something even bigger yo align precisely. Any way you slice it you are taking smaller pieces and making them into bigger pieces that still have to be moved. Lol

Some are bolted or riveted partially. They have to be even more precise

Re: Boredz V49 - Canucks optional :P

Why do they have to be more precise? In my mind with bolts and rivets they just have to line up the holes and shove the bolt through. Im guessing thats not what really happens
