If you saw how many leaves fall on our yard, you'd understand.
We have 3 in our front yard and 2 in our back yard. Four are very old oaks that are 50+ feet. The other is a pecan tree, but it still drops plenty of leaves. Also, neighbors also have as many trees and their leaves often end up in my yard.
Lot of the places around atl they have to bag them in special bags the city will pick up and compost
Where my wife used to live they had to use special bags and the money from the bags goes to the city. Then they come around every 2 weeks in the fall to pick them up.
When you have the amount of leaves he is talking mowing them won't work unless you have a bagger on the mower

Id leave them(no pun intended ) I guess if you really want green grass then its worth the effort to you. But if I literally lived in the woods(that pic^) Id just accept the fact that Im not gonna have a pristine lawn Way to much work IMO.
Glad I live on a windy hill surrounded be corn fields. Everything just blows away

That was me 2 years ago... the first fall at our new house. It fucking sucked to do it all in one day. ( took us from sun up until sun down ) What was worse was that we had plenty of rain to solidify a full 6-8 inches of wet, packed leaves.
Now, I'd rather spend 2 hours every weekend and get it taken care of than have another day like that.

The guy in that pic doesn't live "in the woods". I can tell from his house that it's a very upscale neighborhood where people have multiple acres per lot. They take pride in their yards. Most people do.
I am not one to do "excessive lawn care" as you put it, but I take care of my lawn enough to where it's not an eyesore to my fellow neighbors.

Wasnt trying to say that your raking was over the top Lawn care is just really low on the list of shit to get done up here Probaly in the bigger towns they do stuff like that. Out here though you either are in the middle of the field and everything blows away, or you have leaves on your lawn and just accept it as nature.
Like you said, pick them up just so more can fall down. Fuck that lol. Ill find other ways to spend my day
