Sony Action Cam vs Others.

I've been doing a lot of research before dropping a few hundred $ on a first helmet cam. Everyone says Gopro because it's the universal helmet cam... and personally I think it sucks. The objects in the video seem fisheye'd and distorted. I've attached some links of GoPro, Drift 1080 HD, and Sony Action Cam. I'm trying to decide on the best set up. I'll also be using the camera for work, (I'm a military Jet Mechanic and I thought it'd be cool as hell to show you jets launching off the boat and helos coming in for landings in 1st person)

I've come to conclusion and it's between the Drift and Sony.

The only issue I'm having is mounting. The Sony doesn't really have the greatest mounting options like the Drift. I'd really like to mount it to my Icon Variant, but the only way to do that is with the headband... And that just won't work. Just curious if anyone has made their own setup?

i like my GoPro HD Hero2 for 2 reasons:

1. lots and lots of accessories to mount
2. very good camera quality

the fish lens is awesome and all but in the end, it just depends on what type of footage quality you want. have you seen a fish lens on a DSLR camera? that is way more distorted than the GoPro. i think it comes down to your cost and how much you want to spend on the extra accessories you are looking for. i dont know much about the sony cam but it almost seems like they dont have much for accessories?
