Ok Nancy. I'm trying to figure out a cheaper solution than the high priced replacements. I'm not trying to make a piece of art as its never seen but trying to make something that does its job better than you
Well...if you are looking for "something that does its job better than I" you're S.O.L. here.
Hasn't been invented yet and from the looks of your handiwork it won't be invented any time soon.
To be old and wise (cough...cough...Me) you must have once been young and foolish! (fart...fart...You)
If you think I and most everyone else haven't made our own personal frankenpetcock at 1 time or another in our illustrious tenures here, you would be wrong.
From yesterdays failures comes tomorrows success stories...
Just trying to give you the benefit of years of experience and a few mistakes along the way.
Ok here is my idea for the oe petcock, make a block off plate and basically delete the diaphragm, then how would you recommend ruining the gas lines to the shutoff valve so I can still get to it without having to remove my tank every time I ride it? I was thinking of zip tying it to the motor mount, one on each side
Run a lawnmower inline petcock. I ran 2 from Advance Auto Parts. They were like $5 each. They are only 1/4" line size so you will have to use hose clamps because the bike has 5/16" hoses. Just beware it might not pull redline because of the smaller size (1/4") on the petcocks. I running a Pingel petcock now, will worth the money to do away with the vacuum petcock.
I am sure you can find someone to order this for you, Mom? Dad? Boss? my goodness dude you could have mowed a couple of yards with the time spent coming up with the frankencock Suzuki spent a few dollars coming up with this piece, think you should stick with their thinkin'
mine doesnt have a knob, but I still use it, not sure what tabs you are refering to but damn there has to be an answer other than the lawn and garden center at home depot
Uhhhhhhh, ddddeeeeeeerrrrrr, dddddduuuuuuhhhhhhhh, it's not the knob that is extra, but the knob in the petcock itself, the one that turns to prime, on, Res, you know the works. But anyway, it has two little tabs on the inside that turn the plastic inside, from different positions, those tabs are broken off and the plastic in the middle is stripped, so since they don't sell that knob nor the plastic piece in the middle, my petcock is
What do you mean by that? I'm not gonna spend over 100$ for something I can make for less than 30. I make 11/hr, but I have court fees and insurance payments so out of every check I only have about just enough to fill up My gas guzzling truck.

I'll send you a working 750w petcock if I have one (which I believe I do) for FREE!
P.M. me your info please.
How do you ship used petcocks? I went to send one through USPS and they wouldn't allow it because it was a used gas tank part. I even cleaned it out but they wouldn't let me send it because it has had some gas in it.

U.S.P.S. is fine!
I actually had a tank arrive via u.s.p.s. with a gallon of fuel STILL in it.
As long as it does not smell of fuel they will accept it.
Perhaps you are volunteering too much information?
Mine asks me if I am shipping anything "perishable/hazardous or fragile" every time I ship.
Nothing "hazardous" about a petcock or a fuel tank that has been thoroughly cleaned with no fumes or fuel odor.

I washed them out and they don't smell too bad of gas..... Maybe I said something I didn't realize but they said I couldn't ship the petcock or gas cap. Maybe I'm just a dumbass and should pack the flat rate box before I go to the post office lol.
What I meant by that is you can make money in so many different ways, mow yards, pressure washing, ect...., rather than sitting around coming up with the "frankenpetcock" so that you can save $50.00, thats just crazy! plus next month you can make even more money if you treat your customers right, then more parts. I am just saying quit fighting and go with the flow its alot easier... I know been there done that, as I am sure many of the guys on here have also
