If I had an R6, or an R1, I might trust Mark with a motor build. But after what I have seen for myself, and heard from others, I don't think trust him with a motor build.
Dyno tuning? absolutely, but not much beyond that.

Maybe ask Metric who he recommends.
Why do you say that? I am picking up a 07 GSXR 600 that had a mild supersport build by Markbilt (I am assuming that is the Mark you're speaking of) and want to know what I might have gotten myself into....
What have you seen that makes you say this? Blown motors shortly after a build? Bad parts?

I would say general carelessness is something that he's been consistent with. However, if you're buying something that's been proven, you're probably alright at this point.
He makes some fast R6s for sure. But like Rich said, I'd prefer to work with someone local rather than crating stuff up and shipping down to Georgia or wherever.

I had him rebuild my rear shock and tune my bike. I am pleased with the shock and very pleased with the way the bike runs and the power of the bike after the tune. But when I picked up the bike the rear brake master cylinder reservoir was left unbolted. Kaz had work done to his bike and there was a damaged bolt hole in the frame that was just left unattended, rather than corrected. I have heard many other similar stories like this.
Two of my friends have entire bikes built by Mark, an R6 and an R1 and both bikes are pretty much flawless. But they are both sponsored by him and have his name on the sides of the bikes, so maybe they got some special attention.
If the bike you just bought has been ridden in its current state, I think it will be fine and you will have nothing to worry about. A SS build is not rebuilding an entire engine.
