And my contraption really isn't all much bigger than the stock. It will hang down less than half an inch more than the original and be about 1.5 inches longer when mounted, as it sits right now without the plate its same size

Re: making my own petcock
The petcock needs to be at the same height(or VERY close to it)as OEM or you will have issues. If I had a petcock laying around Id just give it to you at this point.

You can run the petcock at any orientation, if that's what you mean...
The way the flow exits won't make a difference in your fuel supply to the carbs. Just make sure the height is correct, as mentioned before.

Ok where did you find that? I can't find it anywhere, went to Lowes and menards and a billion hardware stores and can't find anything close to that nor can any of the above said stores order anything like that, Ebay nor Amazon has anything like that either

Re: making my own petcock
And srad, how would I use those ones on Ebay you showed me? A barb off the tank then after it tee it to the carbs? I thought about something like that but bringing the valve to the motor mount and zip tying it in place there. Would that work?

That monstrosity petcock you are making is an abomination.
Are you saying you have no petcock at all or the one you have has gone bad?

Yeah, those stores wont have anything like that you need to go to a dedicated plumbing supply.

Re: making my own petcock
Honestly srad, I don't really care if you like it or not, I just care if it works or not. My OEM petcock is bad, won't flow at all. If you really wanna know why, look at my other thread called update, it has all the pics if my OEM petcock tore apart.
