Yup. Cheaper to get a lower mileage street motor than to rebuild one unless you are trying to squeeze it some
And fuck buying valves especially. Try to find a low mileage head.
FWIW the valves are first to go in our motors.

If you've got any suggestions for reputable shops in the area that are up for the task Rich (I'd prefer to not have to crate up the engine and ship it) I'm all ears.

Re: Northeast Trackwhores: 7 month thread v3
My power puked as soon as the snow started. I was so infuriated I got up and left the house and went to the office to pick up some mail that was sitting there for me. Found a $200 AMEX gift card in with the rest so that was a nice surprise
Came home and power was back on.

What do you know about Chronic Motorsports in Deer Park NY? So far I've only managed to dig up good reviews
http://www.chronicmotorsports.com/default.aspx?pageid=1
Apparently they build Paulie Allison's motors, we met him at VIR back in April, very cool dude.
Or perhaps Karn's out in PA.....he posts on here. A little further away though. Chronic is only about 1.5 hours away on LI.
