Lap/Lap and a half and the q2's are ready to go. I was probably running 40's at Thunderbolt when I switched to race tires. According to Cardenas, they're good into the 23's
With your record of crashing, I guess you should just stick with what you got... And upgrade from those street tires with no treads that youre riding on.
I didn't blame the tires, I thought it sounded like Bob was blaming my Pirelli track day slicks, but I got on Dunlop AMA takeoffs early in the year before the crashing began.
That's the way to go out for sure.....as world champ and with your health intact. He's really redeemed himself over the last couple years in WSBK. I think it really helped heal his image. Back in MotoGP as Rossi's nemesis he got a really bad rep as being a supreme whiner.
Since moving over to WSBK and showing a much better work ethic and more maturity I think he's looked at in a lot more favorable light. Good for him.
And I wonder if he came to that conclusion after Rae passed him on the straight at Portimao
Eugene Laverty already was on the team and it looks like Althea (since they cancelled their partnership with Ducati) is moving over to Aprilia and bringing Davide Giuliano with them.

Isn't Althea a satellite team, though? I thought Biaggi and Laverty were factory riders.

I didnt say you did, I'm just saying that I rode on those tires for a long time without issues.

Althea Racing is the group the Ducati outsourced its factory racing program through, similar to Alstare Suzuki or Ten Kate Honda. Before the Ducati factory team left WSBK, yes Althea was a satellite team. That changed in 2011 when they took over the factory effort with support from the Ducati factory.
So A.R. went to look elsewhere. Carlos Checa is contracted to Ducati, Davide Giuliani is contracted to Althea.
A.R. is likely going to partner with Aprilia for 2013, Aprilia lost their Alitalia sponsorship in 2012. Eugene Laverty had a 2 year contract for 2012-13, hence one seat was filled. Max's contract was up in 2012, he chose to retire, Giuliano takes the other seat with Althea coming on board.
