Pretty obvious I guess, on my my motorola photon I need to buy another case. Break the belt clip off, velcro the case and if needed tether with safety wire.

So I just got this mount the other day and I have mixed feelings about it. The positives are that it was easy to install and it mounts solid. I put velcro on my GPS and the mount and it holds well. Now for the negatives. I got the supramount that is supposed to hold the GPS unit but I cannot tighten it so that it does not rotate. The mount makes putting the key in annoying. The loctite tape that is on the threaded bolt came right off when I tried to screw it into the mount. The directions told me to take the nut of the stem bolt first but I ended up damaging it and not actually being able to get it off and then realized that the mount would fit over top of it anyway so I damaged my bike for nothing. Finally, I think it looks awkward on the bike when nothing is mounted to it. It would be much nicer if the mount platform could be removed easily so you didnt have this big empty thing just protruding from the bike. I am not sure whether I will keep it or not.

I read the instructions multiple times before installing. I mounted the supramount in the side hole per the instructions provided using the hardware provided. It just wont tighten enough to prevent horizontal rotation. Regardless, I have put the velcro on anyway.

Place the rubber neoprene circle in between the supramount and the plate, it will now not move.

For an iPhone 3 or 4, we have a special case that wraps the phone and has a tripod insert hole, you simply screw into it using the thumbscrews we provide.
For an Android, use the Supramount soft clamp, it holds the phone tight and has a tripod insert hole in its base, you simply screw into it using the thumbscrews we provide.

Hmmm....not sure I want to give up the functionality of my front pin-stand. Also, I think you could probably design that top plate to be something other than a square. I know the square provides the most usable surface area, but maybe have an optional top plate that is a crescent shape, an ellipse or something less bulky for those who are only using maybe one item at a time?
Someone in this thread had the great idea to make that top plate removable. Doesn't look very good when nothing is mounted, and it would be very easy to make a removable top plate (then you could keep it square too since the whole thing would be removable).
I do like the very secure installation and the anodized options...but giving up my front-stand functionality...how hard is this thing to remove when one wants to use a front stand?

Great to hear that, Moto-D. I guess the good thing is that I don't use a front-stand ALL that often, but having to remove the mount is a consideration holding me back from a quicker purchase.
Curious, what made you decide to go this route with the long bolt through the stem hole? Did you find other stem-hole mounts to be less-secure?
