Well I recently bought a pair of FP levers, look great feel great. However I've lost the OEM bush that goes inside the clutch lever housing, and thus I'm getting issues with the lever.
if the switch is all the way to the left (1) I pull the lever and it isn't making contact with the safety switch to start the motor. I put it all the way to the right (6) it makes contact and starts the motor.
Problem is I take off and get major clutch slippage, so I put it back to like (3) and it seems to reduce the clutch slippage, but I still notice a bit. I believe the problem is its because I lost my OEM bush that goes in the housing ?
am I correct ? and if so, where would I go to get another one ? can't find them anywhere online.
not sure if they ship to Australia or not for 1 bushing but, check out the Ron Ayers fiche site - they have every OEM nut & bolt for specific models / years.
You need that bushing, however you're also going to need to set the lever out to say 3-4. This is standard on a most of the gsxr 600/750's with pazzo as well. For the clutch you can have an adjustable lever, but you still need to set the lever so that it fully engages the clutch and you can also start the bike. Most all adjustable levers you can adjust out of this area, but of course you don't want to. Same with say ASV. Just because the lever can adjust nearly all the way to the bar for the brake lever doesn't make it a good ideas you won't have enough brake lever travel to be able to hit the brakes hard. Comfort for the levers is great, but the levers still need to have enough travel to be able to get the job done.
You can probably make a bushing. I tried to order it as well, it's not possible. My bike did not come with the bushing either. Whoever owned it first lost the bushing. I am going to look around at a couple parts stores in the area to find something that will fit. I'll post up when I do. Most likely though I'll be making something fit.
