are you a painter? my 6 hunnerd needs paint but if I do it I want it spectacular something stock but Chip Foose or at the least factory quality..
my favorite scheme is the gold but I know its too elaborate unless I have the graphics kit which I can't find
the only other paint I really like is the blue/black (last pic)like the 02 busa or the blk/charcoal/purple like this one and I could replace the yellow with a chrome GSXR or something like that..
I dunno for myself I don't really like custom paint jobs I dont know why I just like the stock paint jobs..
yeah i do alot of painting here locally...ive done at least two dozen bikes i would say...from solids to wild and crazy..lol me though i have a soft spot for nice clean solid color bikes...this bike will be a super dark blue..or black...with gold wheels, black frame ,swing arm , and front end bits...i will probably go with some nice gold "r" decals and that will be it for decals..

how hard do you think the blue/black/silver would be?
I don't even know how one would start as far as which color is base and so on?
it wouldnt be hard to do...it would just take alot of tapework and time...which means not cheap ...haha...nothing is ever cheap if its done right though lol.

Do a solid colour, then a quality vinal sticker over top of it followed by a nice clear. It will last for years! Much less expensive then painitinng it in different colours, HOnda has been doing it for decades!
yeah thats a good way to do it. the only thing i dont like about vinyl is that the color is a little bit muted on the vinyl and the clear doesnt always cure that..
Why not got to a vehicle wrapping firm and get the panels wrapped. Its an idea I have been toying with for a while. My mate has some real carbon wrap and he keeps bugging me to do it all I do is pay the cost of materials and this stuff isn't cheap about £75 per metre.
I must say GDC rocks, I literally been bouncing around forums just to see what's what and having a SRAD (best bike I ever rode) this is the place to be. OP your bikes gonna be kicka$$ when your thru!!

thanks man i hope it turns out the way im seeing it in my head!!!
looks as good as a powder coating what kind of paint and prep? did you use an etching primer or? think it will hold up as good as a powder coating?
someone polished part of my frame and swingarm and it ruined the look IMO, I like the stock look much better if its clean, thought about powder coating every thing but its spendy
yea its nice to see someone do the frame offs when required, I would have done the same but its the only bike I have to ride so I don't like to have it apart for more than a week or so however I am thinking about biting the bullet over the winter?
