The tire wall wasn't even a speedbump. That thing was FLYing across the grass.
Unlike a bike going off-road at high speed, these things don't appear to slow down very much. A bike would have come to a stop 1/2 way across the infield!

Are they racing on the edge of the Amazon? If the crash didn't kill the driver, it looked like nature might.

Big rig racing was very popular in the 70's, don't know how popular it is today but it's still done.
