id love to go see the wankers who actually turn up and pay....
i would go out there and try to sell them all TRE mods for the low low price of $799.95....
Looks to me like they want guys to come from overseas. I think the price is too steep even for that as the Aussie dollar isn' that weak at the moment and you can go do similar things in Hungary, as I just have, or to the European Superbike School thatgets Doohan and Chili as instructors. Kevin Schwantz race school in the states would be another option for less $$ too.
I think that in the not too distant future you'll see more package offers like this - PI has major imrpovements coming up and I'll bet the circuit owners want to see a better return by having bigger paying, more corproate type clients.
10Gs gets you 5 days on track it looks like - 2 at broadford doing supermotard skills like backing it in, and then 2 days at the Island with a ride day after.
And if ya bring the missus to watch it is $5900, just to watch. I reckon it will be cancelled to to lack of support. I mean the riders attending arent exactly racing gods(Rossi Doohan etc)to most of us, (still champions though).
As for ride days at PI, they are now $199, so they are $40 more this year. They must be trying to get rid of ride days if they keep lifting prices like this. Maybe now we can run a lap timer(unless that cost extra )
Here we go about the prices again...Steve has announced on another board that he came back from holidays to find that PI's new management has put up prices for the 2nd half of the year. He is not adding the charge to anyone who has already booked but it will affect people making new bookings.
Management state that as they are spending 2.5mil on improvements they expect a better return on days at the track (Translation - they have put up the cost of renting the track for the day). In return for the increased costs to his customers Steve is trying to organise use of pits stating that if customers are excpected to foot the bill for increased facilities at the track they should be free to use them rather than pay for them as an additional cost. So he is working on doing the best deal he can for everyone.
As one of his staff I'd like to point out that track days overseas are way more expensive than what we pay here, although that looks set to change as other race tracks around the country will no doubt follow PI's lead. As someone who has spoken to Steve about this change in direction from a business viewpoint I can tell you all that he is unhappy about this sudden change in events that has seriously affected the way and manner in which he is forced to do business.
My last bit is that i don't see that PI would change their deal on ride days re; timers and cameras. If you want to use timers you'll probably have to go to an open MA practice day.
Peewee... I also hear that the new management... Fox i believe?.... will only be allowing 3 ride day operators to use the track, HRCA, Superbike school, and another... who ive forgoten already.
You know about that?
It will be good for the smaller tracks though.... all the other operators will go to them.

I accept that it is just Steve passing on the added costs he been given, however last week they were $159 now $199 and thats a damn big increase for what, a safer track. motorbike riding is dangerous, and to my knowledge no ride day punter has died at the track(or racer)due to poor safety within the circuit. These improvements are for MOTOGP only to keep Dorna happy. Not the ride day guys who keep the place going.
