Re: 2008 600cc superbike shootout.

I like Suzuki, always thought about getting a blue and white, but those Hondas look really nice and from multiple motorcycle reviews ive read including this one, the Honda's 600rr seems like a clear winner. But for the 1000cc bikes, Suzuki is the clear winner. ie AMA. Very tough decision...
I might get a 600rr as my next bike(red and black)...
P.S. Theres more registered users on this online forum than honda's cbrforum 600rr.net, not like that really matters...

Honda is good but one thing that would make me get the Suz over Hon is the honda has lame non-integrated lights and NO slipper clutch, Suzuki does. Suz footpegs are adjustable. As far as looks I like them both. This is coming from a guy that did own a 05 zx6r

Re: 2008 600cc superbike shootout.

I don't know what to say about these reviews - it really seems they are riding different bikes. The Honda - no slipper clutch, no electronic damper - these are seriously good parts that it simply doesn't have. They have similar engines, suspensions/etc - don't see how the honda gets rave reviews.

Suz got rave reviews too. Brakes, best torque, 2nd highest hp by less then 1hp, best lap times, good suspension. awesome street characteristics, same with track.

Re: 2008 600cc superbike shootout.

The Honda is a great 600CC machine, my girlfriend owns the 07 and I have spent a bunch of time riding it. Small, light, and the motor is darn good for a 600 - good if not better compared to the 05 Kawi 636 I used to own. Handling is razor sharp and turn in requires almost no effort. Built in damper works great, about the only complaints I have with it are little to no wind protection and slightly abrupt on/off throttle transitions depending on gear/RPM.

The new bikes are all great but Honda stepped up the game last year with the redesign for sure. Rumor has it Kawi will have a completely redesigned 6R for 09 and I am sure Honda will be doing some changes next year also, will be nice to see what they come up with.

Re: 2008 600cc superbike shootout.

Why would the match a 848 to a 600, are they crazy? My brother went with the 848, and yes he has power down low, but i fly right by when i get to 7k then its all over. Granted 750 vs. 848 is a better match than a 600

No he doesnt get butt hurt, cuz he thinks Italy is better than Jap. And yes yes yes, that bike corners like a slot car. We went right from the dealership straight to the track with the 848. That was a fun day, everyone though he was crazy for bringing it to the track brand new, but thats Montana for you. i have some pics from the track with the 848 if you want me to put them up?

are you sure about that?
"HESD electronic steering damper"

One of the strengths of the honda the article kept mentioning was how light the rr was compared to the other bikes. 28lbs lighter than the new suzuki. I think that is a substantial performance factor that cannot not be ignored.

I like all the bikes mentioned in the article and would consider anyone of those bikes as my next bike, except the kawi.
Right now, I am really wanting a '08 750.
Sigh.....I need a good paying job.
