another oil question

hey guys i just did an oil change on my bike (06 gsxr 600) on the side it says 2200 ml of oil to fill thats about 2.3 qts i believe. i put about 3.2 qts in and it was to the fill line while running but when i shut it off it goes over. my question is is it supposed to be at the fill line running like it is or off? did i over fill my bike. thanks

i was told by suzuki that it takes 3.5 qts im all sorts of flippin confused

Why did you put in 3.2 quarts if it only needs 2.3? I don't know what it actually holds but you need to drain some until it's right (see above post).
