I've been removing steel parts around the bike and making them in aluminium instead. Have converted a Honda fireblade headlight to fit, made the headlight bracket in Al, made Al rear mud guard bracket/battery box/exhaust hanger/spacers/suspension link rods/anywhere basically where Suzuki could've saved weight. Have spent too much on Ti nuts and bolts too - they're not a cheap way to lose weight !
I have to update my thread I started on weight saving; from all the parts removed and altered, I've now saved just over 82lb. It still looks pretty standard.
Using Motorcyclist figures : was - full tank 547lb and empty tank 514lb now - 464.75lb and 431.75lb.
There's a further 11/12lb to be saved by fitting GSXR750K6/7 forks and cbr600rr wheels, but I want to ride this Summer, so other changes can wait.
