Hi Hendrix. Not sure if my previous message sent so I will repost it. I'm selling my gixxer project . It's ready to go for rego but needs paint. Here's the list of new bits on it. Tyres, rear disc and pads, yoshimura muffler, cam cover gasket, all fluids, battery, headlights, faring mounts, decals, fuel lines, rear seat cowl, . This bike goes like crazy but it is not a commuter and doesn't like the crap roads here. Comes with spare tail plastics, front rim and a few other bits and pieces. Bike is a 89 750 K red and white model. Here's my number if you know of anyone interested 0411171489

    Cheers

hi larry i have finally gotten my 750 regoed . it has taken a lot longer than i would have liked i had to find out why it wasn't running properly. i found out that the new jet, needle tubes i put in did not work with the jet needles . so just put in the old tubs , it was the only thing i had not checked or changed . i have gotten quite fast at pulling out the carbs lol. i am sorry that i have not had her up to show you sooner but with the problems with the bike and some with family heath it has taken more time than i thought it would. on the way home from getting the bike regoed i noticed that the right fork is leaking oil so i will get the forks done . then i will let you know when i'm coming up your way so i can call in to say hi and show you the bike.

Ok cheers anyway. They're actually quite hard to find, especially in good nic. I'm contemplating a bandit arm which I reckon will slot straight it with little mods and won't look too out of place

It.s in the Tech Tips and Tricks Forum "Separating Crankcase Halves" or something like that
... Used a turnbuckle betwixt two grade 8 bolts through upper and lower rear engin mount ears, then on the front with the engine resting on the cylinder head studs, a two-armed gear puller across the outside of the lower crankcase lands at the oil return tubes with a steel plate against the upper block to keep the puller bolt from punching through the case. I put a picture of the turnbuckle setup with the forum post..

Finally got it! I added a post to the thread that describes how I separated the halves by using a couple bolts, a turnbuckle, and standard gear puller.
Thanks for the encouragement along the way!

Just a brief update.. Case halves are still quite stuck.. Took a ribbon of the sealant off inside of case seam and dropped it in straight acetone...no effect..next step is to try nail polish remover, then xylene..these buggers are REALLY stuck together #*%**#%! :hammer

I.m going to try my own concoction as a solvent and let you know how it works on the Permatex
It,s the world,s best homemade penetrating oil and solvent....
I,ll share it with you, mate.. 50% ATF (automatic transmission fluid) and 50% acetone.
Works better than Blaster or any other commercial product.. The acetone dissolves rust and gunk, the ATF being very low viscosity seeps and lubricates well. Amazing on rusty bolts. Must be stored in a metal container cuz it,ll dissolve anything else..try it..
    It works really fast!!

Yep..got all the hidden ones you mentioned.. Just starting to get a visible crack between case halves at the shaft seals.. The wooden wedges crossed my mind as a next step.. Also thought I might apply a bit of interior pressure by using a couple blocks and a small bottle hydraulic jack (verrrry gently) just barely applying pressure and letting it sit overnight to stress the gasket material that may be binding the alignment dowels...she.s a witch..
    Thx for the encouragement..
Will keep you posted..all the best, mate

Hey Down Under.. Thx for the advice mate.. Will keep tappin' .. Permatex has a solvent that I may try on the edges if I get a bit impatient.. Will let you know when I succeed.. So far I have about 1-1/2 hours in this exercise :hammer
