Put the bike in gear, and put the penny at the bottom of the crank/clutch gear where they meet. Use an impact gun and just keep going until it eventually loosens. The penny will be deformed when you are finished, but it copper, so it is much softer than the gears so it wont cause any damage. The threads are normal (lefty loosey, righty tighty) Let me know how you make out.

You chimed in a a thread years ago about removing a clutch. When you removed the 50mm nut from the clutch did you use the penny trick and do the threads go clock or counter? I can get the basket to move in both direction with the penny in between the gears but I feel I am having no success.

Any help would be great. I'm removing a clutch from my 94 RF900 R which is roughly or real close to the GSXR 1100.

    Thanks,
