: This needs to be addressed.
Blitzergixxer 06-13-2006, 05:58 PM Now I am not a stunter, but I have a few tricks up my sleave. This thread is not to discuss techiniques, nor is it to ask questions. This thread is to address people in this forum and on GDC. Over my time on GDC, I have noticed a steady increase in the amount of people frequenting GDC and, more specifically, this Stunts and Tricks Forum who ask questions that stink. Asking questions like the "I own a 1k and I can't get it to wheelie" or more recently, "I got a ticket for doing a wheelie, how can I get out of it?"
Bottom line, if you are going to ask a stupid question, expect a stupid answer. This applies to ALL Forums. The reason I am posting in here, if because I see more squid questions in here than anywhere else. If you honestly cannot figure out how to wheelie your 2001 or up, 150+ hp 1k, YOU DON'T NEED TO BE DOING WHEELIES IN THE FIRST PLACE. If you get a ticket for doing something illegal on your bike and want to know how to get out of it, you need to have your bike taken from you, as you are not mature enough to take responsibility for your actions.
Now I know some dumb ass is going to call me a squid and say I can't ride, or give me negative rep, or say something nasty to me. I place this challenge to those people. Ask anyone who matters on here how they feel about it. Or better yet come ride with me if you question me. I promise you will have a different out look towards my riding abilities afterwards. Do I do wheelies? Yes I do. Often. But only where it is safe. And if I get a ticket and I know I'm wrong, I'll pay up.
So in closing, if I offended anyone, it's because I'm right and those people need to take a look at themselves before they suit up for a ride.
gimpsta 06-13-2006, 09:05 PM is this where I click the I agree button???
gsxr6002005 06-14-2006, 12:14 AM :cheers
elusively 06-14-2006, 12:16 AM Good post man, I agree with a lot of what you're saying and just and FYI:
This isn't something that happens ONLY on this board. I've been on this forum for a few weeks and I notice a BIT more than other boards, but I've been on a few other forums for years now. There are both benefits and consequences for having more members on a forum, or on a motorcylce for that matter.

I dont think sandals and sunglasses is considered suiting up... Im not one to talk about being a good rider but hell i wont ride without all of my gear...
TWISTED METAL 06-14-2006, 02:19 AM so how do u wheelie a gsxr 1000...again...j/k with a site this big and so many people here ur gonna have some q's that are rediculous but deal with it i guess....i like to read them and responses cuz they are hilarious!!! especially gimpsta...he loves to argue with peeps...entertaining...
Focer 06-14-2006, 03:22 AM I agree.
Its all about tards trying way too hard to be like the cool guys at school. Those I believe are the ones that shouldnt be riding anything to begin with..
YOUNG SERG 06-14-2006, 10:22 AM shucks..i love these "feel good" threads
gixxsexR 06-14-2006, 10:27 AM double post?? O.o
gimpsta 06-14-2006, 10:58 AM i don't argue
i just like my own $.02
Blitzergixxer 06-14-2006, 11:24 AM YEah I posted it twice.
streetfight3r 06-14-2006, 12:05 PM Just because someone can't wheelie there 1k, but would like to learn, doesn't make them a squid, newb, etc. I hate these generalizations.
Take for instance a friend of mine. He's been riding for about 10 years now. Has 3 bikes. A purpose built high 8 busa dragbike, gixxer 6 racebike and a k5 1000 streetbike. He does about 12-15 trackdays a season and also competes in the club races.
He can't wheelie.
Now if he came in here asking for help, it wouldn't be to seek help with his throttle control or clutch techique. It would be to ask questions like:
"I've never wheelied. How can I tell where the bp is?"
"Should I try to clutch in second or first?"
"My wheelies wobble, what am I doing wrong?"
These are all legitimate questions, and all questions that have been answered a MILLION times, I know that, but sometimes you've got to give people the benefit of the doubt. Don't assume that person asking the question is the guy you saw in the 7-11 parking lot.
And finally, stop your bitching. Next time you see the post "I can't wheelie my 1k", for your own peace of mind, ignore it.
gimpsta 06-14-2006, 12:45 PM uh... i race too and I uh... have learned what kind of power she has by how I've pushed her to drop my times.
if you ask me, riding the track hard will get you confidence with manipulating the bike.
but.. you have a pt streetfighter but 99% of the people who ask the questions that blitzer is referring to, make it obvious they have no idea what they are doing. that and they'll make it known they bought the liter bike for ego not for its performance value. now they have to figure out what they got themselves into.

If these kind of people would ask legitimate questions, they will recieve the answer they are seeking. That is just not the case. They stand out like a sore thumb when they post and then get upset when a reality check is tossed their way.
fireforeffect49 06-14-2006, 08:16 PM Glad to see others thinking that way too.

Your buddy is the exception man, he is VASTLY a minority.
Normally, I try to play devils advocate and do what you're doing, but there is validity in the original post. A great deal of it. Sure, we have the choice to ignore the "I can't wheelie my 1k" threads, hell I do ignore them. What I can't ignore is some fucking jackass splattering himself, a passenger, or another rider all over the highway because he has no clue what he's doing.

Yeah but we hate making change with it cuz it is only worth a penny.
:lol :flipoff
chrisOH 06-16-2006, 09:14 AM As you'll see the next sentence after my 1k won't wheelie is, I think it is down on power.
I have a 160 rwhp 98 CBR 900 that is -1/+1and can't wheelie for shit and it is all Rider error. Now I can get the 1ft power wheelie in first and every once in awhile I get the timing right and can bounce second to maybe 2ft or so.
I used to be able to bounce my GSXR 1000s in 2nd up to about 2-3ft and chase the front with the gas through 2nd gear. That is all I desired. BP never meant much to me, nor distance.
But with my current setup on the 98 it is somewhat unpredictible in 2nd (41mm carbs) and I am just starting to learn it again, but have a hard time relaxing my upper body when I want to do a wheelie.
UMGixxer 06-16-2006, 09:53 AM you have to start somewhere
jixxa jay 06-22-2006, 01:28 AM you have to start somewhere
:cheers if everybody was an expert what fun would that be?
fireforeffect49 06-22-2006, 08:20 AM Yup. Wouldn't be any wrecked bikes that we can pick over for parts if everyone was an expert.
shaggy1 06-22-2006, 08:46 PM maybe not, but my insurance would be a fuck of a lot cheaper.
fireforeffect49 06-23-2006, 07:40 AM How very, very true.
Padros 06-23-2006, 10:13 AM Is doing burnouts a waste of money on tires? And how much throttle should I use??
Padros 06-23-2006, 10:15 AM Also what brake pads do I need to buy so I can do stoppies?? This will be slammin!!
UMGixxer 06-23-2006, 03:42 PM and I my friends am a rookie stunter, oh and man from what i hear doing stoppies is really hard and people wreck alot learning to do them
Focer 06-23-2006, 05:46 PM Ftp Bitches!
OddJob_585 06-25-2006, 03:45 AM I agree there are a lot of the general "how do I wheelie" questions...which are annoying at time but I also understand some ppl just dont get it but are trying.
As for the "how to get out of my ticket" stuff...the only thing I dont like about them is the fact that what one guy says may be true in his state but not yours, so its kinda pointless to ask unless only ppl from your state reply. Not being mature enough? I dont know about that one. Hell yea i wanna find away to get out of the rediculous fuckin ticket given to me by sum asshole on a power trip w/ a badge that I was nice enough and MATURE enough to pull over for.
Oh yea and by the way last time I checked it wasnt squidly kids on ratty stunt bikes driving insurance rates up, it was middle-aged men who can afford the newest fastest bike out on the market.
