I am in the process of getting a 02' SV650S. It blue with 680 miles. I really like the way they are styled. And figures it would be a better choice for my first bike, as opposed to a new gixxer 600 which is what I really wanted. However I am a lot more confident about getting this bike, then a gixxer due to my lack of riding experience. I did just attain my motorcycle license through the msc. But prior to that course I had no riding experience. I hope I like it

You won't get bored of it fast, I can tell you that. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/punk.gif I started out of a DR250SE and it had no power, topped out at 90. It was a wheelie monster though. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/yumyum.gif
Hey, the SV is not just a "beginners bike"!!! It is great as such, but it'll outrun many "better" bikes with the right rider. And it is easier to get to be that rider on the SV than on a Gix. A Gix or a similar high-powered bike might be faster in a straight line, but in the Twisties the SV keeps up great. Hey, I've outrun both ZX7Rs and Fireblades with my SVS... Go get it!!!

I have an SV650S and yes it was my first bike, but I wouldn't trade it for a GSX-R600!! I love it.

Tonight I just bought the bike (sv650s). Getting it shipped tomorrow. I can't freakin' wait. I bought it from a dealer. I paid 5800 dollars out the door. Did I get ripped off? I have been shopping around, and prices for this bike have fluctuated so much, this seemed like a good deal. The bike only has 680 miles. First purchase, so I don't really know the buisness yet. It looked really clean, and in great shape. Well it's mine now, so all I have to do now is enjoy, and learn. Damn, I am so excited!!!!!!!! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

doesn't sound like too bad of a deal. my naked (when i bought it but not now) brand new sticker price was 5,700 plus freight & set-up, plus you don't have to break it in too much more. it's always nice to get to know your bike during the break-in period, but dammit,
sometimes you need to ring it's neck. congrats! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Hey! Congrats on your SV!! You won't regret it! I just purchased mine last week and I just can't get off of it! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif It's a 2001 SVS with Renegade Hi mount, RaceTech springs and emulators. Picked it up for $4000. I just replaced the tires with Sportec M1's. Now all I gotta do is break in those tires!! Take care and ride safe!! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Always good to have another SVrider out there! Hope you enjoy it as much as I have. The SVS is also my first bike, picked up a few weeks after finishing my MSF course. I was pretty jittery on it the first couple of weeks, but now it's great. Had I gone for the GSXR, like I wanted to, I think I would have hurt myself pretty quick.
