The dealer stripped the bolts that hold the seat on my 1k. Now I can't get it off to get to the battery. Also I have enlarged the hex head by trying to get it out time after time. Anyone know how I can get this out without scratching my tail section.

get a drill bit thats the same diameter as the threads themselves...its either 4 or 6 mm can't remember. try and get a cobalt left handed bit. drill inside of the allen head staying as center as possible, starting slow. if your lucky the bit will bite and remove the bolt if not drill till the head pops off and then with a pair of vice grips remove the rest of the bolt.

I used a dremel to cut a slot in the heads, and then used a LARGE flat-blade scewdriver to remove the bolts.....
here is a hint - do not turn the power on, until the cutting wheel is in place http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You can also use a "screw out" set from Sears(Craftsman). They should have a bit big enough to bite into that hex head and take the bolt right out.

If the dealer fucked it up why not just take the bike to him and tell him to fix it? I dont know if I would spend my time fixing a problem they created.

THe dealer is 3 hours away. I got it fixed at my local dealer, they were good enough to write is up as a warranty claim. Good people over there.

Ya, but the only problem is that you will have to fix the threads with a tap and such and get new bolts once you do get those old ones out, so be prepared for that.
