im in need of a new tire and i need a little help with picking one out. on my tire it say 180/55/17, so is that just like a cars three numbers? also, my front tire is good, its just the rear that is bad. my friend told me that i should stick with the same brand that is in the front. true? and anybody have some suggestions as to good tires? i was looking at the michilin(sp) pilot and the dunlop qaulifier. any help would be appreciated. thanks.
Yes, the numbers are like used on car tires - 180 = width in mm, 55 = tire height (rim to outer diameter) in % of width, 17 = rim diameter in inches
Generally it's a good idea to stick to matching front and rear tires, they are designed to work together when leaning.
Both the Michelin Pilot Power 2CTs and the Dunlop Qualifiers as well as the Metzeler Sportec M3s are good, up-tp-date tires. Can't go wrong with either

PPs
Qualifiers
Sporttec M3s
Dragon Corsas
Even the Contiattack is a good tire.
