hi guys i know there are lots of posts on wheelies but i really cant seem to get it up, the bike that is. i know my bike is heavy but i try cracking the throttle at start of powerband and clutching it up at various rpm's in first. i havent tried bouncing it yet but im wondering if the bike is too heavy to wheelie?? or do i jsut suck with wheelies. i can wheelie a mountain bike and dirtbike no problem but i cant seem to get anything much more than a slight rize and i have yet to even consider chopping the throttle or hitting the brakes. im thingking maybe lowering my rear tires pressure for more traction and bouncing teh bike as hard as i can, and maybe standing on the rear pegs but all i want is a simple power wheelie.

I had a 91 GSXR 750 and got pulled over by Folsom, CA police for doing a wheelie. I know that the bike can do it if the bike is in good running condition and the clutch isn't burnt up. The way I did it was to get the bike in 1st gear at about 7500 to 8000 rpms, chop the throttle and then pin it as fast as you can. So, chop and pin and the front wheel came up without the use of the clutch. My 91 GSXR also made 92 rear wheel hp. I still have the print out of the dyno run.

my bike runs poorly below 4k and burns lots of fuel so that isprobably my problem. im having the carbs rebuilt once tha ti sdone im sure it will be a noticible difference as right now my needles are worn.

It's a heavier bike compared to the latest 750's... but it can definetly wheelie. my 1st streetbike was a 92 750, and I went -1 tooth on the front sprocket, just to liven it up and keep the highway speed.

Just pop that clutch and she'll reach for the sky. Clutch wheelies are the only way to go. Learn to pop em on a dirtbike, and definetly learn to use the rear brake on a dirtbike, cuz you'll need it :D
