My teenager was quoted $7000 for a GSXR600, or $750 for an EX250 (which he got) . After 9 months his GS500E cost him $830 (I think) for a year.

Just for a laugh he got a quote on a GSXR1000 - $12,000 liability only.....

Its not just the cc'age, its also the type of bike http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Been a good driver have the max discount ie multiple bikes, good driver, Age 31 licenced since 18, I was quoted full coverage $500 deductable in So. California. I have coverage with progressive and annual policy is about $1400 year on the 2003 GSXR750 similar quote on 2003 GSXR1000 told my insurance broker and he just about fell off his chair he said he has not quoted full coverage on a GSXR of any displacement under $2000 annual in a very long time. Another reason a new rider should start off with a SV or EX you will pay more for an annual policy than you will on the total purchase price of some sport bikes when you are new!!!!!!

GMAC - $217, full coverage $250 deductable. 1998 GSXR750.

I am 38, licensed for 20+ years, not quite a perfect record though.....

Age helps, but so does experience.....

I pay $63/month liability only.... I'm 22 with a great short term driving record, and a horrible longterm record. In november I'll be clear of everything on my 3 year record. I also only have my motorcycle permit with no MSF training. I'll be getting MSF'd when I get the money... Full coverage for me so far if I took it would be 250/month. After I get the MSF done my rates will drop 15% my insurance person said.

7000 for what? a year? and 12 thousand>? where do you live....Iraq? how dangerous are you to have to pay MORE per year than the bike is worth? my god i thought mine was high in NC but i should be jumping for joy. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

i pay 750 a year for my 750, perfect record. try state farm insurance. the quote on cc's not on type of bike like progressive does. for comparison i paid 450 a year for an F4i brand new. progressive wanted 2100 a year for the same F4i

all of this is for full coverage, $500 deductibles

Sometimes Insurance give you stupid quotes because they DO NOT WANT TO INSURE YOU. I got quoted for $9000 per year from allstate . Geico literally laughed at me because I just got my license back in december , Ive been a bad boy http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/nono.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/nono.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bitchslap.gif

I probably should have checked in to insurance before I bought the bike. Just picked up a 03 750 gsxr and when I went to go get insurance I was turned down a few times from AAA and some other low key place. Progressive wanted $4000 a year for $1000 deductibles on collision and comp. I live in a suburb of Detroit which doesnt help, am 20 years old and have a ticket for speeding. Well this wasnt going to work so I was forced to go with PLPD, no comp no collision. My fingers are crossed to say the least. With PLPD insurance is $277 a year. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
