: Ride On Suday May 7th
dragon1000 04-30-2006, 09:06 PM Okak guys here it is nice and early so everyone can make plans to do this ride.
This one is set for the globe run so plan on it being nice and early since its getting kinda of toasty.
Also plan on a long run becuse I think it takes a while to get out there.
West side guys will meet at the same spot as always. From there We can decide whwere to meet everyone else.
Lets make this one count since all of us have not ridden todether in awile.
Let me hear your input guys!
BrazilJiuGixxu 04-30-2006, 10:27 PM I think Im good to go, especially since I didnt get to make this one. But will know more during the week.
PhxGSXR1K 04-30-2006, 11:56 PM hey my name is billy, i have been looking for some new people to ride with, so if i can get off work i will go. :)
Mark67 05-01-2006, 12:23 AM Got Tool the night before but I'm definitely in for it. Was going to make the run today but didn't get finished painting the downstairs until later this afternoon.
loms1977 05-01-2006, 01:27 AM No plans as of now so it looks like I am in unless things change like they did this past weekend. I was at a wedding Saturday night and was in no shape to ride this morning. On another note, I did manage to bounce the bike off the 186/187 mph indicator for a second or two last week (in a controlled environment of course).
BrazilJiuGixxu 05-01-2006, 08:00 AM :(Sorry Billy. We just dont have any more room in the group for another rider. We have got the gammut covered with experienced guys like loms and Mark, intermediat guys like myself and iluvda, and new guys like Newb and Dragon. But if you promise to bring an extra roll of toilet paper for me I would be willing to trade one Dragon for a Billy.:D
Mark67 05-01-2006, 12:00 PM Now that's funny.
dragon1000 05-01-2006, 02:48 PM Let the trash talking begin:hammer
loms1977 05-01-2006, 04:26 PM :spit :spit :spit
There is always room for another member of the AZ Gixxer Crew.
BrazilJiuGixxu 05-01-2006, 07:31 PM ...:biggrin:biggrin:biggrin
Newbee 05-01-2006, 07:47 PM Right now it's looks like I'm out on this one. But we'll see once we get closer to ride day. :(
Newbee 05-02-2006, 11:04 AM Yeah, I'm out I got the family breakfast sunday morning for an early moms day surpirise. You guys have fun & ride safe, please bring Brazil some t.p. as this looks like a long ride. :lol :lol :lol
loms1977 05-02-2006, 11:09 AM its not a long ride, it is 50 miles to Globe and another 30 to SRC. For the west siders, it is probably 30 miles to the meeting point off Idaho Road and US60. Round trip would be less than a trip to the spars.
iluvdagxr 05-02-2006, 11:51 AM yeah, maybe this time he won't have to take 3 shits in 15 minutes. LOL!
dragon1000 05-02-2006, 01:58 PM Brazil should buy stock at Charmin:lol
BrazilJiuGixxu 05-02-2006, 05:22 PM Oh I see, everyone gangs up on me now??? I did iluvda a favor and didnt put him in the same group with newb and dragon and this is how he repays me??
well, for the westsiders it is actually more like 60 miles to idaho rd. it takes us a good 45 min at least to get there. But Im in for the ride. hey i might bring another guy with us.. he doesnt have a gixxer but it IS a suzuki. the new boulavard M109R. it's a beast.. but not sure if he wants to go yet.
dragon1000 05-02-2006, 05:36 PM Well as it looks, the west side guys can meet at the Safeway gas stationon the corner of Litchfield Rd. and Waddell rd at 7:30a.m. then we should be able to meet the rest of the pack somewhere in the east side,Loms any ideas where?
I am in forsure so it time for me to really break these pilot powers in:oogle .
iluvdagxr 05-02-2006, 05:52 PM hey dragon, have you ridden twisties with em yet? I was getting al the way over in the turns with way more confidence than the stockers when newb and i were in the spars.
Brazil, hey, I took all the abuse last time so now it's your turn again. LOL!
loms1977 05-02-2006, 06:20 PM Lets meet at Idaho Rd and the US60 at the only gas station there. It is on the north side of the freeway at 8am. Plan on departing at 815. My cell is 602-568-1657. Trip is very easy into Globe, run SRC a few times and then back into Globe for lunch. Should be back by 2ish.
Again, meeting on Sunday at 8am at US60 & Idaho Rd.
Brazil - bring whomever you want, just remind them that if they want to ride with us they best wear gear or we will turn them around.
1stofaseries 05-02-2006, 06:32 PM I haven't been on in a month, after the untimely departure of my 750... and bad news i picked up an r6 last night, too good of a deal to pass up, long story short but after riding it back here from Tucson i can say its junk next to the 750. Can i bring it????
BTW r6 for sale ;)
BrazilJiuGixxu 05-02-2006, 07:08 PM Ya, the guy wears a helmet for sure. I dont know if he has leathers though since he just picked it up. I will tell him he needs to wear some kind of jacket if he wants to go with us.
I know the meeting spot since that is the way out to Tortilla. So Dragon wont get lost riding with me. Dragon, if we are gonna meet them at 8, we should leave Safeway by 7:15 just to be safe.
I guess 1stof could ride with us too even though its a yammy. I mean, we do believe in charity right?
iluvdagxr 05-02-2006, 07:36 PM I heard the old r6 handles prety well in the turns, but the acceleration is still bleh. You better get rid of that quick so you can get one of dem newfangled 750's.
dragon1000 05-02-2006, 11:10 PM No problem new meeting is set for 7:00am to depart no later than 7:15am.
All bikes are welcome, but loms is right they need to have gear to ride:cheers
Mark67 05-02-2006, 11:18 PM I'll meet the gang at Idaho and the 60 for I only live an exit or two away. Finally a ride on my side of town.
Loms I'll call you before the ends of the week.
Newbee 05-03-2006, 10:34 AM Damn, I don't want to miss out on this ride. It sounds like everyone is going. :crying
1stofaseries 05-03-2006, 11:40 AM The r6 (2005) does turn great, real quick responsive handling, but the power just isn't there.. kinda reminds me of one of those electric bicycles ;) at least it looks a little cooler.. in terms of gear i got helmet and gloves anybody got a jacket for cheap?
loms1977 05-03-2006, 01:40 PM My buddy can kick my ass around the track all day on his 99 R6, now he can kick my ass even more with his new 06 R6. They are sweet rides.
dragon1000 05-03-2006, 02:19 PM Wow I ust got done watching the replay of SUdays AMA superbike race and what do you knoe the GSXR-1000 took first and second.
BUt then i watched the 600cc race and those R-6 kicked everyones ass.
iluvdagxr 05-03-2006, 04:54 PM damn, 7am on my only day off. I'm out.
BrazilJiuGixxu 05-03-2006, 08:13 PM Here is one for ya, iluvda:crying:crying:crying:crying:crying:crying:c rying, my only day off...:crying:crying:crying, need beauty sleep...:crying:crying:crying:crying, got ran over by a barrel:crying:crying:crying:crying... hahahhaha
My buddy said he is coming. He has his helmet already. His leather jacket is on order and will be bit before he gets it, but he is gonna borrow a denim jacket for the ride. I told him that would be cool just as long as he had no exposed skin.. I figured denim is good enough for the legs, so why not.
1stof, can you borrow some kind of jacket from someone? Hey, I know someone complaining about getting up too early that might let you borrow his....:lol:lol:lol
iluvdagxr 05-03-2006, 09:21 PM wait wait wait, this coming from the guy who, last week said, "I'm all in!" and then the next day was like, boohoo, my head hurts. LOL! :flipoff Sorry dude, I'm sick and my allergies are killing me every day at work. You and I have the most back and forth fun around here. :thumbup
BrazilJiuGixxu 05-03-2006, 09:22 PM ok.. tru tru...you got me there...hahaha
az-gunner 05-03-2006, 09:38 PM new guy chiming in...
I'd like to go but I work sundays. (so take a day off right?)
My work requires min 30 day advance notice on requests for days off.
So... I can't make this one either.
I do have Fri/Sat off.
Anyone that can't make the Sunday, up for a ride on Fri/Sat?
iluvdagxr 05-03-2006, 11:14 PM it's all good!
dragon1000 05-04-2006, 01:23 AM Awww come on Iluvda we are meeting everyone at 8:15.:mad
Trust me we have all seen you and no matter how much you look at it,you can get all the beauty sleep but you are still going to be damn ugly:lol .
So sack up and ride:cheers
dragon1000 05-04-2006, 01:24 AM By the way There will be a new guy joining us,he doesnt have internet but he will be coming.
iluvdagxr 05-04-2006, 12:51 PM 8:15? You just said 7:15 up der. :wtf Make up your damn mind! LOL! :flipoff
dragon1000 05-04-2006, 06:48 PM Yeah the west side guys are meeting at 7:15 to be up on US60 and Idaho rd by 8:15
dragon1000 05-04-2006, 06:50 PM Ok everyone needs to post up by Saturday to see who is in and who is out.
That way we know forsure who to wait for.
BrazilJiuGixxu 05-04-2006, 07:04 PM Im in for sure, barring any more migranes...hehe And my buddy on the Boulavard is in also.
iluvdagxr 05-04-2006, 09:22 PM i'm in for 8am, but if it changes to 7:15 again I'ma be pissed fo sho! LOL!
BrazilJiuGixxu 05-04-2006, 10:27 PM Ya, you just need to be at Idaho Rd and the 60 by 8:00. Us westsiders have to leave a little early to get there by then.
loms1977 05-05-2006, 12:04 AM I will be there, strep throat and all....
iluvdagxr 05-05-2006, 12:57 AM mmm, strep throat. I remember the days. You better not pass that shit around. I am already sick and sneezing from allergies as it is.
1stofaseries 05-05-2006, 01:25 PM I'll be there +1, a honda guy... but he's an ex motocross racer, and absolutely screams on a street bike... he's riding a 95 cbr 900 and just smokes me, hope somebody on a gixxer can show him whats up
dragon1000 05-05-2006, 06:08 PM Yeah the new guy That is coming with has a 600 Kawa so we will se what is up.
So bring your A game
I'm in for this ride foresure.
Brazil I'll see u at the Safeway gas station on Litchfield and Cactus(haha just kidding)the one on Litchfield and waddel at 7a.m
iluvdagxr 05-05-2006, 06:16 PM LOL! Don't do that to brazil, you'll give him a migraine again. :crying LOL! :D
BrazilJiuGixxu 05-05-2006, 07:37 PM hahaha.. funny guys. What is up with all you guys bringing outsiders to a Suzuki ride? My friend may not be riding gixxer, but at least its a Suzuki.
Honda this, Kawa that. Yammy over here.. what the hell? Is this America or something?
dragon1000 05-05-2006, 08:45 PM We are just giving Brazil a chance to be faster than the rest of the other bike:hammer
PLease ,Please Brazil don't let us down:lol :lol :lol Or else:grrr ...
loms1977 05-06-2006, 05:09 PM Who wants to bet that Mark is 2 hung over after the Tool concert to ride tomorrow? :cheers
iluvdagxr 05-06-2006, 06:12 PM good for him if he is, prob be more fun than riding back into town in 95-100 degree weather.
dragon1000 05-06-2006, 10:05 PM See u guys in the morning:)
BrazilJiuGixxu 05-06-2006, 11:44 PM ya, whatever
loms1977 05-07-2006, 12:34 AM no call from Mark so far.....see you guys in the am
iluvdagxr 05-07-2006, 01:32 AM hopefully i don't wake up late.
Gix-ster 05-07-2006, 06:46 PM I hope everyone made it home okay. It was a great ride today and had a lot of fun and good to see the familiar faces and nice to meet the new ones. Here are some of the pic's I took today.
Gix-ster 05-07-2006, 06:48 PM Here's some more...
BrazilJiuGixxu 05-07-2006, 07:58 PM hmmm... I dont remember seeing any of that...
Anyways, Im home in one piece. Who was it that said it would cost the same in gas to just go get someones truck? I call BS!!! There is no way that if someone went home and got their truck and came back and brought me to AJ that it would have cost $437. In fact, I bet it would have cost half that to bring me ALL the way back to El Mirage... but NOOOOOOOOO! Im $437 poorer now. The least you can do is send someone to my corner this week while I turn tricks for extra money on Van Buren. BASTARDS!!! I hope you were all cramped and your knees hurt when you got home.
That is all.
iluvdagxr 05-07-2006, 09:01 PM nah, but my ass was really numb. at least you didn't get butt raped by the tow truck driver allah DELIVERANCE.
dragon1000 05-07-2006, 09:20 PM Wow,well at least the tow truck didn't try to get fresh with u.:yumyum
But any ways,it was a great ride:biggrin
loms1977 05-08-2006, 12:48 AM I take 3 things from this towing lesson......
1)we all need to become AAA members.
2)for $437 we no longer will be using tow trucks, someone will fetch the closest truck and the rider down will reimburse gas + pizza & beer. The way I figured, at 15mpg for most large trucks, 250 mile round trip a $150 gas bill would be must less than $437 tow bill.
3)this tow truck driver was EXTREMLY polite and showed genuine concern for the bike and making sure it was cared for the way a rider would want, this would be hard to come by again in an unfortunate situation. If you consider the type of tow you MAY have had compared to this one, be glad about that.
Overall, GREAT ride, I liked the higher speeds but if anything bad ever did happen it would be twice as bad as in the spars. Good to see everyone again, RICK - thanks for meeting us out there.
loms1977 05-08-2006, 11:42 AM On a serious note, read on the PSC board a rider was killed at the top of the spars. RIP
1stofaseries 05-08-2006, 12:38 PM I about fell over when I was on the phone with the tow driver and he estimated $450, glad it worked out ok... That was an awesome ride, look forward to it again.
Side note- whenever you think your a badass and you get passed on the outside by someone riding 2 up its time to step it up ;)
Newbee 05-08-2006, 01:34 PM Sounds like you guys had a blast, minus the tow truck adventure. Sucks I had to miss out. You guys should of called my ass depending on what time it was I might have been able to help out.
loms1977 05-08-2006, 02:35 PM Side note- whenever you think your a badass and you get passed on the outside by someone riding 2 up its time to step it up ;)
LMAO - that shocked the hell out of me to see you railing 2 up in the sweepers. I am a tight twisties person myself, have lots to learn in the sweepers. You 2 should have stuck around for the laps up the hill, it was great riding, no LEO's anywhere and pretty light traffic.
Thanks again for calling in the tow truck for Brazil.
BrazilJiuGixxu 05-08-2006, 07:44 PM Ya 1stof.. thanks for that.
Maybe we can run tortilla sometime soon once I get my bike fixed. Now I got to figure out how to get my bike from my mom's to my side of town to a shop. I think Im gonna try to get it to Apache since it's the closest really to my house besided Metro Motorsquids.
dragon1000 05-08-2006, 09:59 PM Well my bike is down,I had to take it to the shop as well.
No idea wwhat is wrong with it,it feels as the throtle is slipping, the rpm go up but I get a dealayed response.:mad
BrazilJiuGixxu 05-08-2006, 10:25 PM Bummer to hear about that Dragon. I just hate knowing something is wrong with a bike, but not knowing exactly what it is. Ruins the riding for sure.
On a little bit of a good note, I called Farmers Insurance, that covers my truck but not my bike. They said I do have towing insurance that will even cover my bike. Unfortunately it will only cover $150 max per tow. But that is better than nothing. And then also I can use it to get my bike to a shop. The sooner the better, cause my truck uses alot more gas than my bike.
loms1977 05-08-2006, 10:30 PM Brazil - that is good news.
Dragon - is your bike under warranty still? If not, take it to ECS and have them do the work and throw it on the dyno for a custom map while your at it.
let us know what is wrong with both the bikes.
Mark67 05-08-2006, 10:56 PM Good to hear everyone made it back safe... sucks about the tow. I'm signing up for AAA this coming week and we should be able to use that next time. Need to read the fine print.
Replacing coils this week as well so know the deal about bike doing weird stuff and not sure what it was. Went through a few jet adjustments to figure that one out. Interested to hear what the dealio is with both your guys bikes.
Look forward to the next run. Great to meet the new folks and good to see the crew.
1stofaseries 05-09-2006, 12:22 PM Forgot to mention Will (the guy riding 2 up) and i were racing stop light to stop light as we got back close into town and his bike turned off like brazil's in the middle of one of these sprints.. fuel injection light blinking red, we shut it down a few minutes then started right up, no more problems rest of the way home but I'm sure he'd be anxious to hear your diagnosis when you find out.
Mark67 05-09-2006, 01:37 PM This makes me think it's a heat issue. Fuel might be getting too hot... not sure but a lot of the reason why I have a heat shield on my oiler.
Interested to hear what it does come out to be.
loms1977 05-09-2006, 02:54 PM That is odd, I wonder if it is a common problem with 05 and newer gixxer 1K's.
BrazilJiuGixxu 05-09-2006, 03:56 PM man, makes me wonder also. I wish I had left a key with my mom so she could try to start it now. But i did try to start it once we got to my moms also and it didnt work. Now I found out my insurance WONT cover my tow so now i have to figure out how to get it to the shop. Anyone have a ramp and tie downs I could borrow? Id like to do it early Sat. morning and just leave it at the shop
dragon1000 05-09-2006, 05:38 PM Brazil I got both tie downs and a ramp, and a truck, thats how I got my bike to the shop.Give me a call and we can load it up and take it to the shop.
Thank God I bought the extended service plan on my bike,I am still waiting to hear what the problem is.
loms1977 05-09-2006, 08:50 PM I am risk adverse so I did purchase an extended warranty of 4 years to follow the Suzuki warranty of 1 year. I figured I would probably need work within the 5 year period and it will help in re-sale since it is transferable. With electronic fuel injection you need a warranty because you just cannot figure it out on your own. Man I miss carbed set-ups.
dragon1000 05-09-2006, 10:25 PM Well i got my bike back and at it was that my clutch had to be adjusted.
So i got my full service and oil changed while I was there.
My bike is running very sweet now
BrazilJiuGixxu 05-10-2006, 07:55 AM Hey Dragon, I dont have your number anymore. Not sure what happened to it. Thats why I couldnt call you on Sunday to let you know I got home. Give me a call. We can take my truck no problem. Its lowered a bit so it should make it easier to load. Thanks.
dragon1000 05-10-2006, 05:02 PM Yeah no problem. But just in case my number is 623-340-9883
BrazilJiuGixxu 05-11-2006, 05:37 PM Hey Dragon, Im gonna truck it to Extreme on McDowell and Scottsdale road. They open at 9 on Sat. So what time do you wanna head over to pick up the bike?
iluvdagxr 05-11-2006, 09:15 PM yeah man, Xtreme is good for service. I get all my shit done there and that's where I got my PP's. They never rip me off either.
Anyone wanna do a Spars run sunday. 8am meet in wickenburg???
dragon1000 05-12-2006, 01:10 PM Brazil,we can head over early,or i can drop off the stuff at your house.I have clients early.
Iluv, sorry bro it's mothers day so I'm out.
Newbee 05-12-2006, 01:22 PM I'm out on this sunday too. If anything changes I'll post up.
loms1977 05-12-2006, 02:13 PM If anyone rides the spars this next weekend....be careful, someone died last weekend and the LEO's will be out full force for awhile due to it...ride safe.
iluvdagxr 05-12-2006, 05:52 PM yeah, i rode today. Too damn hot! Never mind, I was tired when I wrote that and had forgotten how much shit i have to do that day.
iluvdagxr 05-12-2006, 06:58 PM so I was looking on cycletrader.com for shits and giggles and saw this shit! LMFAO! http://adcache.cycletrader.com/5/4/0/83688840.htm
loms1977 05-13-2006, 08:27 PM That bike looks PIMP, I love the high mount Microns.....if I was to do everything over again I would go full system Micron, high mount.
dragon1000 05-14-2006, 10:52 AM Damn thats more than I paid for my bike.
But the bike is pretty sweet.
iluvdagxr 05-14-2006, 12:44 PM yeah, but $9000 for an 05 600 with 2000 miles. You could get a new one for less than that. :thumbdown
Newbee 05-14-2006, 04:12 PM True but does it come with the hot ass chic sticker on the side, that alone is worth an extra grand...lol
That is pretty bad ass I have to give it up for the exhaust for sure.
