Idiots!!! I've felt sorry for Carr for a few years, and the Texans are bound and determined to get him killed. Stupid move not taking Bush.......

He might be a beast but so what? Even if he is a weapon your offense still sucks because the defense can STILL key in on Carr and continue trashing him. With Bush it gave the offense a COMPLETELY new dynamic and all of a sudden tons of pressure is lifted off of Carr's shoulders and he's able to start doing things. Carr is a decent QB but w/o anyone around him he's just an easy target.

I felt he was the best trooper in the NFL last year given how much he was put on his ass and kept coming back for more. I feel as though this was a shot to the nuts for him and a Bush would have been the RIGHT move in this situation.

The only thing I can think is that there are a TON of 1,000yd backs in the league right now and many are looking for a new home. Hell, Denver had three possibly four themselves before letting Mike Anderson go. Most teams are VERY deep at Running back and my only thought is that they're going to get a proven back for a song but until that happens... dumb move Texas.

Bottom line: You can have the best defense in the league but until you can put points on the board w/your offense you can't win a game. If you're defense is great (which it's doubtful ONE DE will create a great defense) your offense still has to be able to put a couple points on the board.

There were a few dumb ass moves in this draft. Houston made the biggest of them all. Way to pass on a "Once every twenty years" kinda back. The other was the Lions. Instead of drafting possibly the best college QB ever they draft a friggin line backer. If they were going to go D they could of at least drafted a DB, which is what their defense really lacks. Friggin idiots. I am sure we will do a lot better this year with somebody else's washed up backup QB that couldn't make the cut somewhere else.

I disagree Jer... I'm a defensive minded guy. If you have a good defense and a respectable running game you can win games purely with ball control. I do agree that D. Carr earned mad respect from me last season, that kid is tough as nails. But his front office isn't helping him at all... maybe he'll be a free agent next year ans sign with the Raiders (fucking idiots).

No, a good move would have been trading down to 2nd pick w/NO and getting the guy they picked AND Deuce out of the deal. NO would've let him go because they had their eye on Bush the whole time and Deuce is making like $22mil so they would have gladly unloaded him for that deal. Then NO would have got Bush and Texas would still have got Super Mario AND a good back.

That's how I would've run shit anyway. Some real dumb shit went down today that's for sure.

But the way it turned out works out best for Bush because now he doesn't have to carry the load all by himself. Assuming Deuce stays healthy, Reggie can have a setup very similar to the one at USC

Assuming NO doesn't run into cap issues with all the players they need. Deuce will cost NO WAY too much money this next season.

I'm sorry, did you say that this is a better situation for Bush? When has playing for the Saints EVER been a good situation? They don't have a stadium, or a fan base. They have a better QB now, but their line is suspect and the defense is more porous than a collander. No, Reggie is gonna lose and lose often, not because of offensive lack of production but rather due to piss poor defense. I'm thinking Reggie may end up going the same route as Garrision Hearst, overused and abused by a team with a poorly managed roster.

You and me both and I wasn't even a Raider fan. I still watch all his shows (Untold, Pro vs. Joe...) and dream of the good old days.
