: **** Tech Doctor **** Suspension Set Up.
Zed_R1000 02-21-2003, 12:55 AM Hey Dean, will you be available for some pointers on suspension at the Creek next Thursday ?
I can relate to Justin's comments about not being 'planted'.
Does anyone have the castle nut tool ? ( if needed ? )
Thanks http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Man you should have been at the engineering session - I mean BBQ...
No short cuts there. They even had a torque wrench and used it !
Made me wonder if I should have gone over all the nuts and bolts I've fiddled with on my Gixxer...
It was like being in an operating theatre.
gsxrboy 02-21-2003, 01:41 AM Don't remind me I couldn't be there http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cry.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cry.gif Anyway back on topic, currently I run the setup from PB that was floating around a while ago, works pretty good on the street. I think I still need to set my sag up properly tho. No doubt the Tech Doctor will be able to give you the good juice on setup http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Maybe I should ride across one day and get everything setup at another of the bbq meets...
and to think....Symb wondered if i had enough tools http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
torque wrenches are very useful especially when screwing into bike parts....havent you heard those horror "stripped oil pan thread" threads???? its a must for every bike owner that likes to tinker with things....even the simple things like taking the front wheel off...its best to have a torque wrench to have the calipers and pinch bolts etc at the right spec http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif unlike a car you REALLY cant have anything go wrong whilst riding http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It was like an operating theatre there, Especially when I brought out the hammer and piece of wood.
There is also the other use for a torque wrench, you know when you can find a hammer..... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/lick.gif

Yeah Zed, I'll be out there giving everyone a hand with whatever they want and/or need.
I'm also for hire if anyone wants their bike dumped at turns 2 or 9, or highsided at 7 in great style. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

i dont have a good feeling about this track day dean....
i get the feeling i am going to be eating gravel with these slicks.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Tech Doctor 02-21-2003, 04:50 PM You'll be right. You just have to take it easy for the first couple of laps to get some heat into the tyres. Remember on the last ride day, there was a short fella with a deformed back that I was speaking to for a while? I will proberly beable to get a set of warmers off him for the day. He is there on most ride days.
You'll be right.
Dean.
