This is Sydney ( 128km around ) at the moment... 11am Fri Morning.

http://www.gixxer.com/uploads/RAIN.JPG

I rode today ( like everyday.. ). Decided to actually use my wet weather gear.
Getting it on and off adds about 15 minutes to my 45minute trip !
Still got a wet sock though.

Lucky I got spare socks at work http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I ride every day to work too http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif---even though I have a car I just can't be stuffed with the traffic and city parking. I also used to get the wet socks thing all the time, it was always an uncomfortable moment when a stranger walked into the toilets to see me standing there barefoot in a suit with one sock balooning away over the hand drier--I think some people may have though that I lived in the toilets and was getting ready for work by washing my socks! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I now own some goretex SMX boots and they don't leak a drop http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

and we have none other than Drizzt and Big Al to thank for it http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif we hadnt seen a drop of rain for months until they came up to Sydney http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif thanks guys http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/banana.gif

Ride the pushie Nolz! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Better off that way, leave all these other fools to pay $1.20+ per litre, I pushbike to work everyday now, try to get fit and save $$!

fair enough, my commute is 30-35 mins on the bicycle, any much more than that and I'd be dead http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Besides which, I'm a slow unfit bugger, and can only average 15-20 kph.

I tried doing the "riding on weekend" thing, but I can't get motivated enough to do that, I have to work any fitness regime into work life, so that it becomes a necessity.

track day umm yeah, as soon as you send me a ticket, and arrange for shipping of the bikes, I'll let you have one of them http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

if it were a racer for street riding i dont think i'd be able to do it....with mtn biking though theres a fair bit of adrenaline racing through you as you negotiate teh jumps and big fark off rocks and all....that and i have about 3 other blokes that come with me...alot more fun that way watching people hurt themselvs always cracks me up http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

the reason why i took it up was because i was puttin on a fair bit of weight...but its turned out to be quite fun... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

They should get some huge fans and blow the weather over to the country where it's needed.

Great idea, what about if they rig them up to a dyno and give us free runs on them and our dyno runs can power the fans http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
