i was trying to install the clear alternatives tail; got the tail to work. and when i was using the multi-meter to find the positive wire for the signals, i accidently touched the plate light connectors together, heard a tiny pop... next thing i know, my guages dont work. when i turn the key to park, then the signals and brake lights turn on etc, and the signal works on the main meters... but when its not in park, then nothing works. anyone know what it could be? thank you in advance.

The tiny pop was probably a fuse being blown open. Since you have a meter, check all the fuses with your meter. Try disconnecting the battery so you don't mess anything else up.
