Does anyone know if Suzuki's Warranty covers all of your services? I didn't buy it on my last 600, but thinking about it this time around. If it covers that big expensive first service and all oil changes, I'm in!

The Suzuki warranty only covers defects. It doesn't cover servicing. I think those service contracts are a rip off and you'd have considerably more downtime due to the bike being in the shop then just doing the work yourself.

Also, there's no reason you can't do the first service. The first service is an oil change, chain tension check, and doing a check for any loose bolts. Do it yourself and save over $100.

no it doesnt. Your dealer may through in the first service for free, but the rest im sure you will have to pay for. We dont charge anything for adjusting the chains after so many miles on the new bikes. You have that initial break in period, with the chains and what not, but yeah you have to pay for your service work. Now if your talking about the extended warranty the answer is still no.

So it's not worth it then? What about valve adjustments and stuff? I did my oil changes before, but I like the peace of mind knowing that they could do everything else if I needed to.

What's your question? Is the extended warranty worth it or is getting a service contract worth it?

I bought an extended warranty for my bike and I haven't had one warranty item done to it.

As far as valve checks go, it only costs around $75-100 to get that checked, IIRC.

Read your manual and the warranty info.

not worth it dude. U shouldnt worry about valve adjustments, unless you really ride the hell out of your bike. Normal riding valve adj are at 16,000 miles, If you ride hard and your high in the rpms all the time then 4,000 miles. Suzuki can do anythin you want but no they wont pay for it unless they fuck up or its a defective part. adjustments should run u about 65.00 or so. that is what we charge anyway. usually takes about an hour. You shouldnt have that to worry about, unless you dog the hell out your bike.

There is something else a dealer may offer, which is a service package: This includes oil changes (dealer here in NJ offers that, you don't have to make an appointment and you don't wait on line), but it is like 600 for it.

I plan on riding the bike every second that it's not raining! But don't plan on being too harsh on it. My first gixxer I put 12,000 miles on it in 5 months and I didn't even take any long trips on it.
Thanks for the help everyone.
