Hey all Michingan riders I was thinking we could all get in on a ride just here in Michigan some times this summer that way it wouldn't be extremely far for everyone. At first I though we could like meet some where in a central location. like Lansing or Grand Rapids, but i'm not really sure of what there is for riding about there. Or even up around Mount Pleasant. what does everyone else think any one interrested?? got any ideas?

I think this summer, Motorcity Superbike Club, Redline Superbike and the Detroit Street Ryders are setting up a multi-group ride...it'd be nice to meet some of you. Come to www.redlinesuperbike.com (http://www.redlinesuperbike.com) and take a look at the forums.

Welcome to Gixxer.com http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Redline Superbike is planning a trip to Deals Gap if you're interested. Check their message board (by following a link from the website) for details.

I think it would be nice to set something up where there is some type of a night life. Up north some where. Then we could get a pacakage deal with a couple of hotels. We all meet up on a Friday evening and go out for maybe dinner (Pizza or something) and for sure drinking the rest of the night at a good local bar. Then do a ride on Saturday about noon. This sounds like a great time to me and maybe even a few of us could get lucky Friday night with the locals. Who knows this could end up being a yearly event. Make it later in the year that way we can spread the word through out the summer and it would not be as hot too.
What do you all think?

Sounds like a good hand full of us are in the Metro area. Maybe when the weather brakes we meet up some where and talk about some plans? Maybe meet up in Royal Oak? MR. "B's" or something. Look at a map and decide on a place and get a few people contacting some hotels?

Im in Saginaw, I know of all sorts of roads heading north in the State, nice twisties in the non populated areas.

As for fun. A good hook up is to meet at the drag strip, .......say Alma area. A lot of guys don't like to hit the racetrack (grattan, gingerman) because its expensive, you need lots of gear and your odds of crashing are good. But drag racing, heck its cheap and fun, plus you don't need to do shit to your bike.

A great ride has always been M25 from sebewaing to port huron. Check it out on a map. It takes you through some nice scenery and has a few (not many) twistys. Sorry i had to give my .02 Oh yeah and there is alot ALOT of bars right on the way.

Honestly, no. There's a road (Oakley Park) that's usually loaded with cops, but it's twisty for a couple miles, so it's fun to hit after work (it's in Commerce Township). You probably know Wayne road is pretty busy on Friday nights and sometimes there's some bke activity over there. Not much else...i have a little industrial area that i practice on behind my house.

Yeah I know about those industrial parks up that way. We used to drag race there last year until the cops started cracking down and impounding cars. When is your club going to start getting together?

The club just had a meeting on Sunday afternoon. They've had get-togethers all winter long, from bowling, to bar nights, and they have a bunch of activities already planned for the year. Check the calendar on the website (my sig pic is hyperlinked...click it to goto the website).

That trip that your club has planned for TN looks quite nice. Little out of my range but when the weather permits longer rides ill have to come check out the scene on your ann arbor cruise nights. Do you know when they usually start going out there?

NO NO NO right off of the expressway there where 275 goes to 696. Theres the exit right before the 696 on ramp. If you go right at the light by the porshe dealership there are some industrial parks off to the right hand side. Good stuff over there. Hell if I can remember the name of the street though. Looks like were getting some good weather this weekend ill be out there.

hey Bmacd, I'm trippin out here. On the redline website you have a barbecue about 5 miles from my home town. At dreamryders house.

I know, I know, you don't really care but man that is sweet I didn't know anyone even knew where owendale is. Hell alot of people from saganaw don't know where it is. There is a real good chance I went to school with the guy.

Sorry like I said you probably don't care. I'm just tweaked.

Nah...that's pretty cool. You should post on Redline's board and go to the BBQ!

I have a question. What makes either Michigans #1 sport bike club? Did someone do a poll or somthing? Did some well known cycle publication rank clubs and one stood out above the rest in Michigan? What is the criteria to become Michigan's #1 sportbike club?

Just wondering but how fast do you get going on the straight at the track?...i was reading that it is about .5 miles long to I would assume some big speed is attainable there.

Also...there's a large motorcycle club up there, but i can't remember the name. I know they goto Full Throttle Motorsports, so maybe you could go there and ask them the clubs that get their discounts there. I met the prez of Full Throttle and he lives right by my work (he came into my work and we talked).
