: Passing Light Switch
Cheese 04-08-2006, 01:27 PM Does anybody have the wiring harness diagram for the 750K6 and more specifically wire colors and destinations of the Passing Light Switch? I'd like to use this switch for other purposes like a garage door opener or push-to-talk for comms. Just wondering where the best place to clip the wires might be. Are they a splice off the high beams or do they come from the fuse box as a seperate wire or pair?
Plarp 04-08-2006, 02:14 PM All you need to do is unscrew the assembly and follow the lines from there. Each of the wires coming off the front wire harness are unique.
For the 600 K6, it's the white w/ yellow stripe & red w/ yellow stripe wires.
Hope that helps. :)
pabsy 04-08-2006, 07:23 PM using it as a garage door opener is a great idea thanks !
GSXR600_06 04-13-2006, 03:31 PM How in the hell do you use it as garage door opener since if this can be done....count me in !!

TheGeek 04-14-2006, 08:54 AM Taiddan garage door opener. I've got one on my bike and LOVE IT. Installed it in 20 minutes. The even included an LED so you can test for the right wire. Ebay. $30
j_t_heilbrun 04-14-2006, 10:24 AM I did this with my S2000 and plan on doing it with my 600 also. It's real easy especially if you have a 12 volt remote (my genie opener was 12v).

I tried a couple weeks ago to follow the wires from the flash to pass switch. They go under the tank into a harness and then the wires change color somewhere because I don't see the same color wires anywhere else on the bike. So someday when I get time I'll remove the tank and the other covers and investigate, otherwise your only option is just to cut those wires at the flash to pass and run your own.
I also have a Taidden garage door opener and was going to hook it up to the same switch along with my Chatterbox PTT.
chattermark 04-23-2006, 07:41 AM If you guys figure this out, please post some pics. So I can do it. I will really love to have a garage opener on my bike. <M>
gsxr137 05-01-2006, 07:35 AM Didn't find what you were referring to "taidden" on ebay/google
ard978 05-02-2006, 06:41 AM its mispelled, try taiddan
dv8ter 07-07-2006, 12:55 AM has anyone figured this out, i never use my passing light and this would actually make the button useful for me.
Blakester 07-07-2006, 01:14 AM Brilliant, I need to see about that. I do have a key code on the outside of my garage but it is a hassle sometimes..
dv8ter 07-07-2006, 01:20 AM I'm moving to a new place next week and they use remote garage door openers to get into the parkade, double gated. I find it a hassle to take out the remote twice to get in, so if I could do this, that would kick ass.
jambi0n 07-07-2006, 11:28 AM This is a really good idea. No more remotes to fumble around with. Just a press of a button. tada!!!
victus1 07-14-2006, 02:45 PM Anybody find the color of the wire and where it's located yet?
Please share.
Thanks
dfwjr 07-14-2006, 03:32 PM I'm installing my Taiddan remote garage door opener on my K6 600 tonight and can post pictures and everything if anybody is interested...
jacksprat 07-14-2006, 03:33 PM go to the 04/05 forum and do a search. A bunch of people over there have tuned the pass light button into a garage door button. There are some threads with pics and everything. I rewired my pass light button to become the PTT on my chatterbox
prstm0nke 07-14-2006, 04:36 PM For the garage door opener, instead of worrying about where the pass switch wire is, just wire the opener to the high beam light, which is super easy to find. The pass switch will activate it.

Any chance of getting some detailed info on this? I'd love to do this SOON. Getting ready for a long road trip. I hate the stock set up (strap) PPT from chatterbox. Thanks.
dfwjr 07-14-2006, 11:01 PM Installed the Taiddan tonight. Piece of cake and it works awesome.
Some quick pics:
-Remove the front faring for easier access
-Remove the switch
-Unplug the switch harness from the connector on the bike
-Pull one of the long wires from the opener through the wire loom with a coat hanger
-Unsolder the yellow/white wire and solder on the black wire from the opener
-Put the switch back together and on the handlebars
-Gently pull the opener between the frame and the air box
-Attach to the side of the airbox with the double sided tape
-attach the other black wire from the opener to the ground terminal on the battery
-Teach your remote
