hey guys....
me and michael went out to doin bikes today to get the bike custom mapped....
im disappointed with the figures but the bikes feels amazing so im a little http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif ....
while they were doing that.... what we thought would be a 20 min trip to monza imports turned into an hour and a half trip....
but i got the slicks even cheaper than i thought.... $420.90.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
definitely going there from now on.... headed back to doin bikes....
couldnt watch the bike as the dyno room has no viewing access and they wouldnt let me inside for safety reasons which kind of pissed me off....
$30 to change both tires and thats it....
the gist of it is.... i got a custom map today.... 109.3hp.... bike felt great.... then had slicks put on.... now its back in my garage waiting for next thursday....
dyno graphs below....

PS> dean you really have to open your own shop soon.... i dont care if you open it in new zealand.... i will find a way to get my bike there.... i will talk to you later about it.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

hrmmmmm

i think repsolmovistar made about the same figures but he just had a bolt on? i think i expected a bit more also.....or it could be that repsol got duped with teh corection factor...? i expect with a full system there would be more considerable gains over just a bolt on....

oh well, most importantly though is that the bike is running well!!!!

ps....if you can bleed the brakes again before the trackday then do so, otherwise we can do it on the day....

im going to do a search on the forum to see what other figures other 600's are running.....

Did you do a dyno run before putting in all the mods?

02-19-2003, 03:33 AM
ok so with a quick search on our forum it would seem that repsol's figuyres are about 6 hp too many!!! and yours is more of a true indication of hp with the respect to the mods that are there....

im not too sure how long doin' bikes have had that dyno for but i bet once dean gets his online there are a few more horses to be squeezed out yet http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

02-19-2003, 03:34 AM
nope....

how many dyno runs were there Symb? was there a before map run aswell?....

SyMBi0TiK
02-19-2003, 03:37 AM
nope....
i wanted to get one done first but couldnt spare the money at the time....
ironically i managed to afford a lot of big or expensive mods which is kind of stupid.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
i know nolz.... i was expecting at LEAST 110.0....
it would be interesting to see what power my bike made with just the bolt on.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
but the bike feels completely different though....
fucking awesome....
i know i should be happy.... but im annoyed as well....
if i do the pair mod though.... i might be able to reach peak another second quicker which would be pretty good (no need for gearing change)....

SyMBi0TiK
02-19-2003, 03:41 AM
wait a minute....
i think i fucked up....
i had the stock ecu mapped with a yosh box....
dont you have to change that back to the base map or something goes wrong....
i could have sworn i read something like that in a post on here.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

02-19-2003, 03:42 AM
more mods?????

what did you buy???? do tell!!!!

SyMBi0TiK
02-19-2003, 04:26 AM
no....
im talking ages ago before i started modding the bike....
i didnt have money for dyno tests....
and then the mods spending started and there was no money for dyno time.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Next on your list should be susspension, then get the cams dialed in properly and you will see your 110rwhp.

Pardon my ignorance in this area, but isn't the RED line before map and BLUE line after map ?

Your right Zed. BUT.... your looking at the second graph that's being displayed. If you look at the bottom the graph, you will notice that the Y axis is in relation to time. This is how long that particular run took to get to redline. The second run that is being displayed actually revved out quicker than the first, which is a good thing. Notice that the revs (X axis) are the same, just the time difference.

The reason behind it is that an engine with more power will accelerate to redline quicker than an engine with less power.

As you can see, sym's bike got to the redline around half a second quicker. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

ummmm not to be rude Nolz, but dont be down talking my bike without knowing the facts,, i wouldnt do it to you.

my bike was dynoed with a 1% correction factor,, which equates to nothing.,,. u wanna look into it i can get u the guys number (oh wait,, its on the dyno sheet)

some bikes come out of the factory and make more power,, some make less.. proven fact.. (dont believe me? go read an issue of AMCN)

fuck sake mate.,. ur the last person i expected to be trash talking.. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/plthumbsdown.gif

the figures may not be the greatest....
but the bike feels amazing and i was playing with it in the shitty range....
wait till i get it on the track.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
by the way.... i found some second hand warmers for $400.... if i can find some for my bike at that price.... i will buy them tomorrow....
so keep an eye out everyone.... thanks.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

02-19-2003, 11:11 AM
not trash talkin or hatin' on anyone....just cant figure out the HP differences....like i said in another post theres atleast $2.5K difference in hardware between the bikes and yet the hp figures are the same....just wanting to know how and why. right now i can only put it down to the race rep colours http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

heck it isnt even my bike so i dont really care, just curious tis all....

now wheres that picture of the CHILL PILL.....you take this way toooooo seriously!

The other thing to remember is that ALL dyno's are slightly different.. the only REAL comparison you can get is if you dyno ALL the bikes on the SAME dyno.. dyno's are great for tuning bikes, but when it comes to actual numbers they all differ..

So in reality, a low number on one dyno might be a higher number on another dyno... but you can really only compare to bikes that have been done on the same dyno....

sym.....you had the stock ecu mapped with a yosh box? is this correct?why did u get the powercommander for then? why didnt u get a custom powercommander mapped with your mods?

SYm,

Could you PM (or post) me the price they charged you for the runs on the dyno. Thinking about a PC but don't want to spend too much getting it dialed in.

SyMBi0TiK

i did....
i am talking back when i first my bike in like september....
i had the akra bolt on already.... then bought a k+n.... and got the ecu remapped....
then we put the full system and power commander on on the weekend and i got it custom mapped yesterday....
so i do have a custom map for my bike and my mods.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

the only bike i know that was dynoed at doins is mp's 1000. He also got "low" figures but his bike with his weight on it does move very well, very well indeed. The bikes should be fine, look at the guys at perth extremes who did the hp comparison with all the mods on the 1000. The numbers they were getting were crap, but the bikes im sure go fine. (i'll post a ink when im home if you guys cant find that site).

Only compare dyno runs on the same dyno.

Heres mine to add to the collection. it was done at ten tenths at liverpool.

http://www.gixxer.com/uploads/dyno0.jpg

At the time of the dyno run it had bmc race filter, slip on yosh, yosh box remap, well maintained chain, street rensport rear (if that would effect it in any way), lots of tlc. The bike seems to go well but im not sure if its from my weight or the power. (but hey the figs look good 157hp)

You don't understand how badly i want to do a track day. Its been so long...
I've given them a miss over summer due to the heat. I kept missing braking points, turning points etc etc. Time to get fit i guess.

I just hate it when I get passed by all those smaller bikes. How on earth do they do that? Someone once mentioned a thing called riding skill http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Whats that?

Im not the fastest rider, I don't push my bike too hard, but, as long as I have fun on the day i'm happy.

WEATHER REPORT FOR THURSDAY

Trend for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Fine, very warm Wed. Hot, chance late thunderstorm Thu, Fri.

nothing is more of an eye opener than when you are leading the pacl in C group and even lapping people....you know, feeling all good about yourself and what not http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/banana.gif

then you move into B group where it feels like you are riding in reverse!!!!!

gawd do i want to get back out there! i hate you, i hate all of you with bikes!!!!!! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/flipa.gif

SyMBi0TiK
02-20-2003, 10:13 PM
actually when i went from c to b....
i didnt have any problems....
if i took it easy.... i got passed every 2 seconds....
but when i was going at 85-95% i wasnt being passed at all....
i was actually flying past a fair few people in b as i recall so its really not that bad....
just make sure youre confident before moving up because those b graders will fuck with you way more.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well... um.. er... ok I won't tell you...

Symb and I were comparing at the BBQ - his rubber looked worse than mine and he reckoned mine would be ok (?)

Anyways nothing wrong with slicks on the track http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Zed, watch out if your tyres are close to being slick. I've noticed if they are almost there they don't grip as good, considering you have the 1000 you don't want to wheelspin when you least expect it.....

I've noticed that B group is not much faster than the fast riders in C. Only difference is the consistency of the B riders. Hell, theres heeps of riders in C that should be in B.
