: Tank Covers?

Does anybody know where to find some kind of tank cover for my 750? I like to lay down on my tank while at higher speeds or when it is windy. But I know after a while I am going to scratch my tank from my jacket.

This is my first bike so I am still getting to know all of the accessories out there and where to find them. (Makes forums great right?)

What are my options? Thanks.

Try a tank slapper....cheap, works great, looks great, no adhesive, easily removed and reapplied....

go to www.thetankslapper.com

or google "the tank slapper"

Never have worried too much about riding the bike 'ruining' the paint on my tank. I've considered something more functional to put on my tank like Stomp Grip, even though its a bit of an eyesore to look at. Def. gives better leverage against the tank while braking/leaning/etc.

AS for the back of the tank, any of the pads that fit the 05 1k will fit the 06 600 750. There is a small bit of difference in the curvature of the tank at the rear, but not much.

As for the top of the tank...... Please take this the way it is meant.....

Stop doing the "squidly tuck" and ride the damn bike. a tuck is not needed until into the tripple digits. At ANY sane highway speed there is NO NEED to tuck. At the track or high speed runs into the tripples, you shouldnt be "laying" on the tank anyway. You should be arching over the tank to the back of the screen. making a smooth "bubble" from the screen across your back to the tail.

oh and actually the proper name around here for that actually is the "wifey tuck" named after a member and her tucking at 55 mph :spit:

Was taken the way you meant.....but this is what I am saying. I live in Texas and where I am at there are a lot of open long straight roads. So going tripple digits is common for me. Also it has been really windy here. Gusts of up to 30-40mph and when you are going freeway speeds or 10 over then a head on wind speed of 30 will put the wind speed to your tripple digits.

When I lay it is because I get lazy....but we all know it only takes a second to scratch something and it is always accidental. (ie the 5 seconds I lay down to selfadjust).

The tank slapper was something I was looking for. Not a bra, just something clear so the sun will still fade the paint evenly and you cant see it, but it will help with scratches.

You're going to like the tankslapper, just don't be deceived by the claim that it only take a few minutes to put on. It took me about 45 minutes. Using a hair dryer definately helps, and be VERY patient. Don't rush. It's hard to believe, but you can get rid of all the wrinkes that will originally show up. I'm very happy with mine, but it took time to apply it right!

Is that thing easy to remove?

This stuff might be an option too. It doesn't look like they have a premade pattern yet, but maybe one of the other Suzuki patterns will work.
