I've seen Bore kits listed as mods on some peoples SV's, but have yet to see one advertised or sold anywhere. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this? Maybe someone can tell me about the availability of over sized pistons for the SV too. this would be for a 02' SVS.

Don't mess around with overbore kits, that have inherent problems that the sellers don't tell you, and you do not need them. You can make 80-85 HP out of an SV without removing the head, meaning stock compression so you don't have to run race fuel, and it will last.
Oversize pistons for the SV are actually meant for a Hayabusa, which are boat anchors (heavier than stock) and bump compression. The worst part about the aftermarkets is that they expand much more than stockers. When the temp starts getting hot you need to worry about seizing, which means you HAVE to run a temp gage and when it gets to 100c you MUST shut it down.
If you are dead set on pistons, there are other options, but you will not gain much.
My SV, built by Twinworks Factory was dynoed at the rear wheel at 81.5 HP, with a perfectly flat powerband , no dips, spikes, etc. I can post it if you are interested. The best part is that it is running on the best gas that AM-PM will sell me. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
If you want it really bad and you have enough money, check out: JHS Racing (http://www.jhsracing.co.uk)
Pesonally I'd save the money and get a SV 1000 S instead. I've seen different HPs listed but I saw one at the Copenhagen Bike Show last Saturday listed at 129HP - stock. I want one!!! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/yumyum.gif

Thanks for the input and info guys. I was just wondering about them. I still can't decide if I should start to modify my SVS or get a new bike. Maybe you guys have some opinions on GSXR-600 and 750's vs all those other new 600's getting released this year.

sv's r good bikes all u need to do is the little stuff. there is no need for motor work if your not racing the bike. all your going to have is trouble. when your doing motor work you always lose relyabality. get some mods and have a great summer
