: Eastern Creek Ride Day 27th of feb. Full day $75!!
Tech Doctor 02-16-2003, 04:54 AM Lets try to get a few fella's at the track on the 27th (Thursday). I'll be there with Sym. giving him a hand with suspension and fueling. If you come along, and what your suspension done or a hand with anything else, it's not a problem.
So come along for a great day, or even just a half day. Cost for the FULL day is only $75. It isn't possible to find that price anywhere else these days. The company is Moto Concepts.
Get in and book it now as places are VERY limited. Come on guys, lets make a day of it.
Dean.

Alchemist 02-16-2003, 04:49 PM I'll will definitely be there, barring work catastrophe, with.......wait for it....new leathers (one pince mmmmm) helmet and boots. Oh and the trailer. You guys won't recognise me http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cry.gif
Dean, brilliant that you are going. I'm hoping to get braided lines on the 600 before then and would like some suspension twiddling. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
Zed, good news. I thought you'd give in. Looks like another great day.
Now, Nolz, what did you say about that 1100 for $1800.

Lets try that again ONE PIECE. Mind you "pince" leathers, could start a new trend.
gsxrboy 02-16-2003, 06:06 PM Man you guys have cheap ride days...

Nyah, nyah http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/flipa.gif. Seriously, they nearly stopped altogether about a year ago. Insurance hassles, lots of cancelled days due to bad weather, no-one turning up etc.
Seem to have got a new lease of life recently. But we're pretty lucky. Lots more on the calendar now, track only an hour out of town http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/banana.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/banana.gif
SyMBi0TiK 02-16-2003, 07:11 PM this is gonna be a great day....
i wonder if we will get a group discount on the $75.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
hehehe.... its almost half price goddamnit.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
dean is fucking awesome.... he tinkered with my suspension in between 1st and second sessions.... i was runnning 2'05's and 2'07's in the first session....
in the second session i did a 1'55 and most were around 2mins....
so it does make a big difference.... plus dean is just a top guy.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/burnout.gif
gsxrboy 02-16-2003, 07:17 PM Sounds like a great day, nice improvements on your times, after the 1.55 were you getting tired and hence the 2.00 times or more playing with suspension?
Steve 1234 02-16-2003, 08:24 PM Hey,
Sorry I missed the barbie http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bitchslap.gif
I'm definitely in for the 27 Feb ride day (weather permitting of course)
The two extra spots i asked for might not be needed. The guys are trying to get out of work but its looking hard for them. I'll ask around and see if anyone else can fill the spots, but if you guys have anyone that wants the spots they're free.
Sym, with those times you should now be in B grade http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
Dean, was it building up his confidence that did it or can we really get that much from the suspension (boy I could use some help there).

Mostly the tyres being able to cope with the suspension settings a bit better. During the first session, Sym. said that it didn't feel planted when going through a corner. After the next session, he came in with both knee sliders ground away, and in the first session he had only JUST touched the right slider.
With the rider having the suspension done, it also gives them extra confidence even before the first corner, and I think that it would have counted for 1 or 2 seconds, but the rest is in the suspension.
Personally, I think that Sym will get down to 1:50's by lunch time on the next ride day with a set of slicks. But we are just going to have to see on the day.

man thats pretty fuggin fast! losing ones licence does wonders for their track times dont it http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
SyMBi0TiK 02-17-2003, 05:59 PM you know it buddy boy....
that 1'55 was a freak lap though....
my time got slower throughout the day though because my tires were starting to worry me....
wait till you see how much quicker i got with race glass on.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
but the next day will be great.... and no group discount on the $75 but hey/// its already damn cheap.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
the reason the time came down so much is because from turn one i could feel that the bike just felt more smoother and planted on the brakes and on hard exits.... it tipped in a fair bit quicker and i noticed it was a bit easier to pick up out of turns.... i dont know if that was the suspension or what.... but all that lead to more confidence.... which lead to more speed.... which led to lower lap times.... which lead to a happy me.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
hrmmm gixxer 1100 for 1800 is a deal to be had but at the end of the day nothign for that price will be track ready without little things being done here and there and $$$ invested.....so im better off holding out and buying something else..... *sigh*
