Nice idea with painted that part of the fairing black, it's subtle but it does make a difference.

Although I would vote against the red wheel stripes but it's not my bike and it might look good once it's done.

I was unsure of how I would like it too until I saw dangeruss's '04 blue and white Mladin 1000 replica with them and it looks incredible. I'll post pics as soon as they're on.

Picked her up yesterday, brrr..... 2006 GSX-R750. Man this is one bad ass bike. I really loved my SV but this thing is on another level. Sorry to see the SV go but SO happy to get the Gixxer. All of my paranoia of I4 vs. twins was proven wrong real fast. I was afraid the I-4's didn't have any grunt down low, WRONG. Even though the 750 is really designed as a all out race bike it is still happy tooling around town ar 4Krpm. Here are some pics!

Got the college part done. Still working on the job. At this point going to college has set me back career wise. We'll see how the long run treats me, since that's what I'd been focusing on.

As far as the bike, it's called debt. Hopefully my 2004 is paid off in another year or so. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

So true. I switched from a Superhawk and though I do love the V's, this bike makes my SH feel like it was built in the stone ages. The power, cornering, and lack of vibration are the biggest plusses so far. Cornering on this thing is not even comparable to the SH, it wants to lay over and turn as tight as you want; the SH would push so hard through the corners it would get scary at not even close to what should be a scary speed. Got 100 miles on her now.

Just removed it and sprayed the inside with a few coats of flat black paint. I used a wheel paint that is supposed to be highly resistant to chemicals and such.

I gotta ask. I've owned 2 750's. A 99 and a 01. I just sold the 01 to buy a 06, but the best buy I can find on a 750 is $9500. I can get a 1000 for $10,600. That's alot more bike for only $1,100 more. So to my question. Why did you all decide to go with the 750. Was it the price, the insurance or what. I can't buy until after april 18th because I'm closeing on my house. So I have sometime to thing about it. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Well lets just say I love the 600. It is a nice ass bike. Rode great. However the new body style of the 06's I just had to have one. If they had the black/yellow in the 600's I would've just opted for another 600. They are fast enough for me. I haven't had time to get the 750 on the road really it's still too cold here to ride. If only they had the damn things a few weeks ago when we had 70's ... Oh well.. Soon... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bash.gif

I went with the 750 because I had ridden them and knew they had that little bit of extra grunt where the 600's were lacking and the 1000's really do have more power than is justifiable for having on the street. Some people do love them though. The 750 just has that perfect middleground of awesome predictable power and flickability.

CNI
03-21-2006, 01:59 AM
I agree TOTALLY! Exactly the reason why I'm buying my 750! ...and even then I will never ride 100% of it's ability on the street. It's just nice to have something with a little more low/mid grunt instead of having to keep the revs up.

That's bad and GOOD! :D YOu should recognize a HUGE difference. smoother stronger engine, smaller overall size, and the obvious goodies; adjustable rear sets, blinkers, gear indicator, slipper clutch, better styling, etc, etc. Things happen for a reason. I took all the precautions on deterring theft of my new bike. Scorpio i500 alarm with perimeter sensor. It pages me when the alarm goes off and beeps at people who get too close. if they stay too close it sets the alarm off. I love it. $300 My other deterrent is my concealed 40 caliber pistol that I have a permit for now. :D My two toys; my GSXR and my HK! :D
