Just turn the restriction levels down to where you are comfortable with them. There are plenty of settings to taylor it to your personal taste.

You can find the restriction adjusting knob on the endline for the rotary girder.

If you are really skilled at computer hacking your can actually go beyond the range of adjustment and put it into "negative" restriction at which point you will have greater than the stock capabilities of the motor. If you want I can fix it. My Dad's a TV repairman and he's got a killer set of tools

Given by the bikes he listed that he's ridden, I'm pretty sure he's european. And from what I know about the european licensing system, he might actually have a restricted 600.

But no one stateside will be able to help you out when it comes to how much power the bike makes.

The restricted model only makes 33bhp
It's a law in Ieland that you have to drive a bike that puts out no more than that if you're on a 'provisional' license, or for your first two years on your full license.
With the new 600, it's restricted by the ECU, easy just to whip it out and put in a regular ECU for full power.
The money that you save on insurance (factory restricted bike is group 5 insurance whereas full power is group 16) can be used to buy a full power ECU from somewhere with still a fair bit left over for bits and pieces.

*edit - I'm assuming you're from Ireland so Nugix if you're talking about restrictions, whereabouts you from?

And that's probably 3rd party only, not even fully comprehensive.
We get ripped over here on insurance....

The problem with that is that if you get in an accident, most insurance companies will have the restriction checked - and if it has been tampered with, you'll get your ass reamed, the insurance won't cover and it might even get reported to the police. Here in Denmark the fine for riding (or driving) a vehicle that you don't have a valid license for is 5K DKR (~900 US$)...

Not worth the risk...
