Hey guys i ride a 05 600 been riding for just over a year last month started getting into doin wheelies a while ago and recently started to stand up and such, I can get em up thru 4th but i usually stick to second or third because fourth is going a lil fast. I like to stand up on the passenger pegs, ive tryed on the front pegs but ive got long legs and its alot more comfortable to stand on the back pegs, can find the balance point easyer and hold it dont gota really bounce just clutch it up and she pops right up... Now i cant hold em very long because i either veer off to the right or i get speed wobble and halfto put it down... now is this because im standing on the passenger pegs? too much weight on my right side... duno whats makin veer right but... allways right never had it veer left on me... i think the deal with my speed wobble (happens every once ina while) is when i get the bike too far back from the balance point so i think i got that figured out but cant seem to get my bike to veer back to the left http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/plthumbsdown.gif

Cliffs..
1.Wheelies veer to the right and olny right.
2. Speed wobble once ina while.

Any help would be greatly appreachiated

with the wobbles ease the throttle back down and bring her up again and she will straighten up ..as for the veering i have the same problem but to the left never to the right ...i can steer at times but 9 out of ten times i cant .....i'm thinking maybe its the tyre profile or wheel alignment .....certain roads are harder than others ....i've had this problem ever since i started learning wheelies still hav'nt figured it out ..... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

1) You are more likely to get wobbles at the bp but you are not at the bp unless the bike is not accelerating.

2) You should not be standing on both of the back pegs. Put you right foot on the front and your left on the rear. You can not hit the rear brake when your foot is not over it. You will loop eventually if you dont learn to hit the rear brake.

3) There are various ways to get rid of wobble but it depends on how it is induced. It could be because of a worn rear tire wich is an easy fix. It can also be because of your riding style. If you get wobbles you have a couple of options. You can lock your knees, clamp your legs down on the tank, or drop the front of the bike below the bp and let them subside on their own.

4) If the bike always pulls it can be poor wheel alignment, riding style, or road surfaces. It sounds like you are learning these on roads. Roads are usually crowned to help water runoff. In the right lane of a two lane road it slopes to the right and you will turn to the right. Thus, it could be why you are turning right. Get on an area that slopes left and see if you turn left. Once you get the hang of whooling it isnt hard to correct for this and go around corners but it takes practice and you need to be comfortable hanging off the side of the bike while in a wheelie.

drop your tire pressure a bit, that should help the wobbles a bit

agree with kern
Also
woobles are from chopping the throttle. Even a little bit. When im really concentrating i'll bring it to BP then lock my throttle hand, then control the height of the wheelie with 100% brake.
If your veering on the road like most beginners do (including me) you are subconsciously putting to much weight on your right foot. If you really concentrate and put pressure on your left foot it will eventually veer left. It took me a while to finally understand and apply this. Dont steer too much with your body it will only do so much, try steering with pressure inputs to the pegs. But you must keep the pressure there for a while then it will gradually go that way. Ya dig!
