I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on dressing up my black Arai helmet? I was going to buy a silver/gold mirrorized shield for it, but after i saw how much they were that idea didn't seem so hot. I was wondering if anyone knows if there's a company/person who makes special decals for helmets? I wanted to put my name on it somewhere (maybe below my shield) and, possibly some type of design that covers up some of the space. Anyways thanks for reading this, and any info is appreciated.

the shield are like 60-70 bucks... thats not bad. Check on getting it airbrushed, now thats cash!!

Ok, well I guess I'll have to look around some more for better prices for the sheilds. Oh yeah, how does everyone like their tinted shields? The only thing I'm worried about is when I'm riding late in the day into the night. It seems like it'd be a pain to carry the sheilds around, but you should have a clear one when it gets dark. I have one more question. I thought I'd ask instead of posting another one. I believe I'm going to replace the lining inside of my helmet (to tight). I heard a lot of people say make sure it's snug because it will break in and become loose. Well it's been about 6 months and it's still pretty snug. Anyone know about how much the cheekpads and lining cost? It's for a Quantum 2. Size is XS and I believe I should've bought a SM. Well, I'm just going to buy the padding for the small and put into my xsmall lol. Thanks for reading.

BTW, to anyone that did this already. How much of a difference did it make going from one size to another (did it make a big improvement)? For example I believe I'll be going from a 10mm lining to a 7mm and the cheekpads from a 35mm to a 30mm. Sorry, this question is kind of ridiculous, but I thought I'd ask since there are people on here that probably have had the same problem.

FYI as far as the Iridium faceshield goes I would recommend against it. They look cool and all, but functionally really are not that great. You will experience more glare, you will see the reflection of your face on the inside of the shield (distracting), not to mention they scratch terribly easily.

Stick with dark smoke, it's the best route functionally and I think they look pretty cool too.

Haha, "WTF" was my first impression. I appreciated the info though. I believe I'm just going to leave my helmet alone for now. Oh, I just ordered my new lining/cheekpads for my helmet. I tried on a small, fits like a glove. Not to tight like mine is right now, but not rolling around my head either. I wonder if having a more comfortable helmet will make me a better rider lol?

SPL170db is right about irridium screens. I have one and it works fine in a daytime, but when it gets darker all you can see is reflection of your face. Also I think it doesn't only scratch easily, but the mirror finish cracks when you are putting the shield on.

As far as the helmet maybe just like a simple white racing stripe up the middle would work for you. Perhaps 2 thick white lines using some adhesive vinyl. Something like Kagayama's bucket here.

Yeah, that's a very true statement right there. About that helmet, I like it, it looks good. Only I need to find out what else to put on the side(s) that matches, otherwise I think the stripes themselves will look kinda goofy. Thanks for the idea.

Why did you get a solid black lid then?

Haha, I was waiting for someone to ask. Well, at the time I wasn't sure what bike i was going to end up buying so I bought a solid black (It goes with anything/I needed a helmet). I had planned on buying a new at the time ZX6-R or Gixxer 6. I saw a 750 for sale and called the guy. He called me back, I went and looked at it, and now it's sitting in my garage lol. Besides that little story, I basically bought a black helmet because I wasn't 100% sure what bike I was going to buy/what helmet was going to match. So I said "F" it and I bought a solid black one. I don't regret it, though I do like the graphic ones better.

BTW, my next helmet will definitely have some graphics on it. I like the Nerve helmet that Shoei makes. The red one is really nice and it matches my bike, but I don't know if I could ever turn away from Arai since I have one and experienced their quality that they put into their helmets first hand. Who knows always try something once right, haha?
