i left a part of the story out... i saw an ad for the silverchair thing and it said this thursday the 13th of feb... and it reminded me how close this weeks track day was so i clenched my fist and let out a joyful "yesssss"...
then someone asked me if i liked silverchair and thats why i laughed at them...
make more sense now...?

As for the BDO, well, nothing goes past the Foo Fighters of course, I think thats who the majority of the crowd was there to see. They rocked.

I saw: Waikiki, Rocket Science, The Waifs, Jebediah, Machine Gun Fellatio, The Living End, a bit of Queens of the Stoneage, PJ Harvey and Foo Fighters. Best band, probably the Foo Fighters, they really know how to play live. They started their set with All My Life, exactly like their video clip. Dave Grohl and band walked out on stage, Dave playing the staccato intro. Then as the heavy bit kicked in, the 3 huge drapes behind the stage fell, revealing three "FF" logos, just like the clip, very nice.

Most impressed with The Waifs, didn't really listen to them much before, but really got into their gig. All in all a pretty good day.

(Would've liked to get to more acts, eg. The Fergusons, Jimmy Eat World, Motor Ace, You Am I, but with all the clashes it wasn't possible.)

you shoulda just watched the big day in on channel v this weekend... the saturday/sunday that just passed...
they had almost all the acts there... i saw some of millencolin and some of foo fighters so that was pretty cool...
i also saw some kraftwerk... hehehe...

There's nothing quite like watching it live, the TV kinda sucks for arena style rock concerts images/icons/smile.gif

As for Jimmy, I tried, but the crowd was just far too thick, and I couldn't get close enough. From where I was way back, I could hear more Living End coming out of Blue stage on the other side of the oval, than I could hear of Jimmy Eat World.

If you get a chance to se Motorace live they are worth the trip, I saw them at teh Amplifier Bar a while ago with Cartman and Red Jezebel (great ep called "coming home") and they did rock up the big stuff, even the "softer" stuff from 'Shoot This' came out sounding great and full of sound live.

I missed a fair bit of Living End unfortunately, while I was trying to see if I could get into Jimmy Eat World, so I only really caught the beginning of the end.

Out of curiosity, anyone here play an instrument? in Perth? wanna jam?
