Figured I would see if this works. Posted this up on MySpace first. If anyone in the Houston area, or maybe Texas, could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. I live in Dallas, Plano specifically. Everyone in the Dallas sportbike scene knows me or has heard about this bike.

About a year ago, the 2002 1070cc 1000 on my page was stolen from me. To summarize, I had it listed in CycleTrader for sale and a guy called me from Houston and said he was interested in purchasing it. He drove up from Houston, gave me a fraudulent money order for the bike and I loaded it up in his truck, along with an extra box of racing parts I threw in for free, and he drove back to Houston. Found out the next day from the bank that the money order was fake, and the rest was history.

His cell phone had been turned off and all of his contact information turned out to be incorrect. Police had no interest in helping me get it back since they said it was not a matter of vehicle theft, only of fraud, since I technically wrote him a bill of sale. They had the nerve to tell me that I needed to track down the bike and let them know what happened. Then they would go after the guy for fraud. I was so sick about it, I left the ad in CycleTrader for another week or so, not even wanting to think about it.

The next weekend, a guy called me and said the usual "Hey, I saw your ad in CycleTrader, wondering if you could tell me a little more about the bike." I basically responded, "Well, it got stolen from me last week so, sorry, not for sale anymore." Then he said, "Oh, sorry bro, I guess that wasn't you I saw at the track last weekend." I was like, "Nope, well wait a minute, you said you lived in Houston? That's where the guy said he was from that stole the bike." He went on to describe every detail of my bike, and then every detail of the guy who was racing it. It was the same bike, same guy, same truck, etc. I found the guy and was ecstatic.

For a few months afterwards, I had the guy I met over the phone calling me every few weekends whenever he saw this guy at the track. I've been afraid to post this up on the internet, since I didn't want it to get around to the guy that I know where he is so he could cover it up. I waited the rest of the season to get a chance to go down to Houston for a week or so, stay at a friend's house, and creep on this guy, but I ran out of time.

Now, riding season is starting up again, and I'll be in Baytown on March 28th for the Texas Shootout. I'm running a turbo 2005 1000 and I'm hoping to see this guy, but I'm trying to get everyone in the mood. If anyone has seen this bike within the last year, please let me know. He's racing it at Houston Motorsport Park in Baytown. PLEASE HELP ME POST THIS UP ON ALL THE FORUMS. Talk around. This is a very unique bike. Very easy to spot. Everything's chrome, but the wheels are white. It's very, very low to the ground. The rear is strutted, which means there's no shock or spring. The swingarm is candy blue now. It's got a gold DID chain and a blue double bubble windscreen. I've got more pictures if you need them. I'm ready to blow this whole thing open, giving it a month to circulate before I'm down there. I'm gonna catch this guy. It's my goal for 2006. Thanks a lot guys!
