Hi all,

I'm new to gixxer.com so I'll introduce myself.
I go by the nickname shanga, live in sunny scotland and am currently running an 2000 TL1000R.

My big question is this.

Are there any other shock bodies that will fit in the original TLR spring non damping units place ?? I know they may not be correctly springed and damped but if a standard shock ( say 1 of a k5 gsxr 1000 )would fit and I could re-valve it and re-springing is easy and cheap, I would be quids in. Minor mods would be acceptable, ie tweaking brackets etc i've done this before fitting a gxr750 shock to a fzr600, and it worked a treat http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It might be a bonus if it jacks the rear up a little to get the blighter turning in a bit sweeter too http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Any feedback would be much appreciated, http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There's several shocks you can put on there. If your looking to mod something to put on the TL then you might check out the Honda F2 shock I think it is. Check www.tlzone.net (http://www.tlzone.net) and search for that mod done by a guy named Doug. Requires some griding of shock mounts so you can't go back to a stock TL shock or an aftermarket TL shock, but it's a good inexpensive alternative that many are finding much joy with.

Unless you are mechanically inclined I know they still make aftermarket shocks for the TLR and the low end is fairly reasonably priced.

I don't modify as I would screw it up.

I just wish I could buy a modified TL-S air box.

That thing is restricted more then Felon on Parole.

Low end....Bitubo for about $475. I had one on my Tiller and it was worth every penny.

Look at me talk like I got rid of the Tiller already...:)
