Dean.

Alchemist 01-19-2003, 04:44 PM Hey Nolz, have a good weekend ?
I'll get myself there. Prefer a weekend obviously, maybe Saturday night/afternoon.
Happy to contribute to costs. Bike videos for after pool/food/drink are a must. Besides, that'll give me time to sober up before driving home.
......and I do have a wombat, if I can get my 5yo to look the other way for a moment graemlins/thumbup.gif
SyMBi0TiK 01-19-2003, 04:49 PM you sound keen midrange which is always good to see... images/icons/grin.gif

Alchemist 01-19-2003, 05:39 PM Nolz, have to check the social calendar ie family commitments. I'd say more like mid-Feb, that gives me time to get things organised.
SyMBiOTiK, ride day sounds fun but.....family commitments again on that day. Besides, with the recent heatwave, I'd collapse after a few laps.
Trailer, must focus on trailer graemlins/laugh.gif
Midrange 01-19-2003, 05:45 PM Nolz,

yeah i am interested in insurance for ME and MY BIKE at the track... i wanna find a work around or do whatever everyone else does... images/icons/grin.gif <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">There is no insurance coverage at the track. A lot of people remove their plates, and if anything happens, they take it onto a deserted road, lay down a bit of oil, and do an insurance job.
I am not condoning what some people do; I'm just explaining what they do.
When you go to the track, it is advisable to remove the plate because Honda have screwed someone that I know (well, it's sort of a friend of a friend). His engine done a crank bearing after just 4500 kays. Honda got some track pictures where they could read the number plate, then told the poor bugger that any type of racing voids the warranty completely. A barrister told him that he has no case.
So next time you take off from the lights, think, am I leaving the lights, or racing away from them. This corporate world sucks.
Dean.
SyMBi0TiK 01-20-2003, 04:37 PM yeah i have heard of afew people wrecking it then going "fuck... now im gonna have to dump this up the old road"...
i didnt think you could get insurance for your bike but i thought i would ask just in case...
cant you get insurance for yourself though... in case you crash and mangle yourself etc... you would have to be able to wouldnt you...? images/icons/confused.gif
i had never thought about personal insurance at the track....i figured once there its the risk you take...
although i have wondered if there is any coverage for when people crash into you?....i assume not aswell as most insurace is void once you step into the gates, anyone know?
Tech Doctor 01-20-2003, 04:51 PM The only time you are covered at the track is for personal injury if you are a spectator. If your actually on the track, the only insurance that is available is health insurance and personal injury insurance if you have yourself taken it out. Even then, read the fine print.
Dean.
ahhh as i thought,
so if some goose runs into you mid corner all you can do is punch him in the head and call him a goose and be done with it....
oh well, the fun heavily outweighs any thought of dying or wrecking images/icons/grin.gif
SyMBi0TiK 01-20-2003, 04:55 PM yeah but who would i talk to about gaining some of this personal injury insurance etc...?
and how much are we talking... thousands...? tens of thousands...? graemlins/crying.gif
Tech Doctor 01-20-2003, 04:58 PM For things like that, I would go through an insurance broker. If you don't want to go in that direction, try NRMA (Nobody Roots More Australians), Western QBE, and so on.
Dean.
SyMBi0TiK 01-20-2003, 05:00 PM hmmmm sounds like a good idea...
wouldnt go through nrma though because my bike insurance is with them... graemlins/idea.gif
might ring around and see what i can find...
thanks for the help dean... o wise one...
*bows down before dean*

Drizzt 01-21-2003, 06:29 AM luckily at philip island with VIc reg, we are covered by TAC medically, cant sue for damages, but least medically you are covered, that is why they wont let timing equipment in the pits at trackdays, then it is considered race practice and no TAC coverage, also mid feb would be good for a bbq in the evening images/icons/wink.gif

SyMBi0TiK 01-21-2003, 03:10 PM its starting to look like i will be able to make the phillip island ride day with circuit breakers on the 19th march... i might get to come down and say hi to some of you melbournians...
i gotta be honest though... i wanna spend some time at crown and see how they do things down there... play some carribean stud, sic bo, and blackjack... graemlins/thumbup.gif
Tech Doctor 01-22-2003, 05:26 AM Hey Nolz, what's the chance of a BBQ on the weekend of the Formula Xtreme round at Eastern Creek?
Dean.
Zed_R1000 01-22-2003, 05:55 AM Hi Guys long time no post...
Been vveeeeeerrrrry busy at work lately...
Hey Nolz, it's mighty nice of you to offer your place / BBQ / food / drink / pool etc. for free use images/icons/wink.gif images/icons/grin.gif j/k
Yeah I would be in for a Sat. arvo or even Fri evening.
Regarding the insurance stuff ; when I spoke to motoconcepts originally they advised vehicle insurance is void at the track.
They did advise on getting some type of income protection insurance etc..
I currently have some as part of a superannuation policy but when I first got it I remember a question something like ;
Do you take part in any dangerous activity e.g. motorcycle racing etc... At the time I ticked no as I didn't even have a bike.
I'm just about to review it and will be talking to an advisor on Friday.
I'll let you guys know.
graemlins/thumbup.gif
SyMBi0TiK 01-22-2003, 06:08 PM when i go into work next week...
im gonna go see someone about it...
coz i dont wanna crash and then have no way to support myself or anything... images/icons/frown.gif
i will go see the EAP people... they should be able to help me...
