I'm running out of ideas for a new race suit. images/icons/mad.gif I was perhaps thinking of a plain black suit (maybe some red/white) with my family crest/coat of arms on the back.
Please note this is not because I'm some rich white kid who wants to show off. My dad died some time ago, my mum and sister in the past two years. The money from mum will pay for the suit. Kind of a remembrance. graemlins/thumbup.gif
I can find about four different versions eg English, Scottish, Irish etc but they all have stripes, lions heads etc and I thought it would look cool on the back, with the family motto (apparently)
DEO NON FORTUNA - From God, not Chance
Any thoughts ?? PS this is reposted from riding gear/apparel coz no replies there.

Dam mate, I'd say do it!!! That'd be so cool, get pics when you can and also post up your coat of arms!
i would draw up something first and have a few people look at it for ideas and suggestions...color patterns etc...
there is nothign stronger than the love for your family and where you came from. its great what you are planning on doing! hopefully you will be wearing it for the next track day graemlins/thumbup.gif

Drawing somefink up is a good idea that way the leather dudes will be able to tell you if it is too elaborate to make in straight hide, you might have to dumb it down a bit or get one of those plastic things made or embroidered then covered.

Thanks for your comments guys. Appreciated graemlins/thumbup.gif
I going to get the suit done at Peels leathers. They are on the Central Coast of NSW and do suits for a lot of racers, Kevin Curtain et al.
The deal is they will do the suit in whatever pattern I like, and the Coat of Arms etc will be hand done on a separate piece of leather, which will be then stitched onto the suit.
This way is cheaper (bout $2000), and if I trowel it and ruin the back, I can get it replaced. I'll try and upload the Coat of Arms which I think would look quite good. images/icons/smile.gif

OK, here is the best I can do after a good lunch graemlins/cheers.gif . Here is the coat of arms

Apologise for the image but you get the idea. The shield goes on the back (with no scroll) of these leathers (without the red stripe over the back).

Then across the top white part on the shoulders (at the back)is the motto DEO NON FORTUNA.
Given that the leathers will black, with white sleeves and shoulders, red underarm and a few more red highlights on the front I think it will come off OK. graemlins/thumbup.gif
Well, we'll see if it works out. I just don't won't to get the same as everyone else. This is my feeble attempt at being a bit different. images/icons/grin.gif
