cant supply any action shots but i did get the photographer to snap a few of me/us, so that will be up in a week or so.

ill do a little write up about the SV and its track manners....a little later...it was very intersting to say the least....but first of some pics!

we then have our weapons of choice
http://www.gixxer.com/uploads/1039660983.jpg

bumped into an old friend of ours...some may know him as wayne gardner....we asked him what he thought about yamahas and this was the response...and obviously the alchemist thinks so too
http://www.gixxer.com/uploads/1039661059.jpg

the preferred brand
http://www.gixxer.com/uploads/1039661096.jpg

the fella in our garage must have been mates with gardner since he just went up to him and took his bike!....looks pretty much stock standard....except for the now triangular profile of the overly shagged tyres!

http://www.gixxer.com/uploads/1039664084.jpg

tht fella was also the rider of this Duc monster! monster bike with a monster rider...bloke flew past me like i was standing still!

All in All a great day !!

Nolz taught me alot too - Thanks Man graemlins/thumbup.gif
And Alchemist had plenty of experience to share graemlins/thumbup.gif

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Damn right !!!! Who was leading who. And no crashes graemlins/thumbup.gif graemlins/thumbup.gif

Even the banana had fun graemlins/bannana.gif

12-12-2002, 05:01 PM
kept quiet cos the seating position on the SV has me in all sorts of pain images/icons/tongue.gif

ahhh what a day eh? my only wish was that i had my own bike images/icons/frown.gif something that i could take closer to my limits and not worry about crashing ...

once again it was a pleasure meeting everyone and im glad we all stayed rubber side down.

Yes, there were more accidents than I've ever seen at a track day. Seemed like every session was either yellow or red flagged. graemlins/thumbdown.gif So many after only a few laps too, cold tyres etc graemlins/bitchslap.gif

As discussed, next opportunity will probably be February since Jan is out for holidays/work catch up etc. but I think SyMBiOTiK would go every day if he could. Another junkie is born graemlins/laugh.gif

Nolz, I'll try to call when I get back after Xmas to tee up bike night at your place graemlins/thumbup.gif

Its different from watching GP. That always seems a bit artificial. You know you're never going to ride that bike. But watching Gardner ride a stock standard Fireblade images/icons/shocked.gif he just sits and moves on the bike, they way we all should. Good fun to watch graemlins/thumbup.gif

Howdy doody fellow Sydney track junkies. How was your weekend. graemlins/thumbup.gif

Next day in Feb sounds good. Rob, I'd book it. If we don't the tendency is to not get yourself organised and then miss out images/icons/mad.gif I'll check if Stuart is interested again.

Funny, I was lying in bed reading about raceglass, tyres, new boots, leathers etc. last night. New helmet and leathers are a must. Yep this could get very expensive....we are a sad pathetic bunch aren't we graemlins/laugh.gif

gotta sort a trailer as well. Its too hot to ride out and back, and where do you put the eski.

SyMBi0TiK
12-15-2002, 04:53 PM
exactly...
thats why im looking at buying a trailer in the next week or 2... so i can take the car out there all the time for storage and shit...
i am also planning to buy race glass (have to take off my headlight though... images/icons/frown.gif ) and i am gonna buy a full set of intuitive ebony sliders (swingarm/bar end/frame)...
by the way... anyone seen that post in mods/how tos about painting the air intake mesh...? im gonna paint my black or yellow... not sure yet though... images/icons/grin.gif
wish that shot of robert and i had come out a little better or something... guess i will just have to wait for the professional photos to come in...

Ok I'll book 5 spots today - just one question though - which day ?? ;

There is another day - Feb 27th - difference is it's 4 groups ( A,B,C,D ) so only 6 sessions. But it's only $75 ( cheap ! )
We didn't ride all the sessions anyway so how do people feel about that one ?

Thur Feb 13th 9am to 5pm 8 x 20min sessions - $100 ( group 3+ )
OR
Thur Feb 27th 9am to 5pm 6 x 20min sessions - for $75 ( flat price regardless of group ). Limited spaces.

Once a decision is made I think I'll post a new 'invite' thread.

I think I'm also going to do a Filco day just to see what it's like - either Jan 25th or Mar 19th.

Yeah I'm also keen on the photos coming graemlins/bounce.gif

Nolz did mention some other shots he had taken. I'm sure he'll post when he has time. images/icons/wink.gif

Hey SyMBi0TiK - how much for the full set sliders ? - ( I been thinkin' 'bout the swingarm.. )

I have some friends that have some friends that do race glass apparently.. I'll check it out.

Thanks again everyone for making it a really great day - better than I imagined. images/icons/wink.gif
I've been intending to post a write up about it... maybe soonish..

The 27th is probably better for me. Stuart said he would come along on the 27th as well. graemlins/thumbup.gif

This should give me time for all the stuff I need to replace.......leathers, helmet, tyres (on the day), braided lines (hey Nolz, maybe bike night can be put braided lines on GSXR600 night), etc, etc.... and I thought the banana would be tired by now graemlins/bannana.gif

it did feel like i was way further over... but i guess not... i figure if i get the photos done each time... then slowly i should be able to see an improvement...

12-17-2002, 05:47 AM
you should see a huge improvement by the end of the next track day! i on the other hand seem to be going backward in my riding abilities images/icons/tongue.gif ...ok so ill blame the bike khekhekhe images/icons/grin.gif

just have a look at your photo and have a look at the way other people position their bodies...

when i posted up pics of my first track day i was told things like

hang ur ass off more (one butt cheek off seat one on)
hold on to the bike with your legs, RELAX those arms!
keep your body parallel to the bike dont fight the lean with ur body, lean with the bike.
look further through the corners....
dont think about draggin the knee, with speed it will come....

and just think about your first day and how to improve, when u next go you will automatically be more confident and faster graemlins/thumbup.gif

yeah... same here... you were a great help on the day nolz... you knew exactly what you were on about and the photos were worth every cent...
and if you check carefully... im pretty sure the photos on the net are only the ones they didnt send you... because the 4 on the net dont match any of the 6 i got in hard copy...

thanks nolz, robert and paul for making it a great day... graemlins/thumbup.gif
already looking forward to feb27 now... images/icons/grin.gif

The ones on the net from JPM are from a different photographer than the ones you got in the post. Seems like Tim Munro doesn't put half the photos he takes on his web page anymore, probably ripped off too many times. graemlins/cheers.gif
